Family Nudity

I'm married and have two teenage boys. My wife and kids are aware of my nudist lifestyle, though they don't go nude themselves.

Recently, my Mom came to stay with us until her new home is built -- she'll be here about 3 1/2 months. She knows I'm a nudist (she learned since she's been here), but has not seen me naked. She's 82 years old, and nudism is new to her.

I strip down after she's gone to bed, and am nude in the morning before she wakes up. I need to strip down to relax in the evening and on the weekends. Should I tell her I'll be nude, or should I just stay clothed while she's here? My wife thinks she's been cool with the knowledge of my nudist lifestyle, but thinks I'd be pushing it to be nude in front of her.

Any advice? I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

That's what I'd suggest. She's of legal age & might get a kick out of it by joining you. It's all in the family & she's seen you naked before.
She would appreciate your openess, at the least.

Treat it just like you want nudity to be treated and don't act as if its even a big deal to be nude around your house during bath time/etc.. go about your business.. It's your mom, I'm sure you're more freaked on it than she ever would be.

The other day my Mom came over and was waiting for my sister to show up. After visiting with her I ask her if she care if I went back to work in the back yard. She said she didn't care that she seen me naked before. I wasn't planing to work naked with other guest coming over. but I took that as an OK to be naked in front of her. The next time she came over, I was showing her the swimming pool that I built, and there was something in the pool that I needed to do real quick. So without thinking about it I undress in front of my Mom and went in to the pool. She didn't turn away or change her tone of voice while I undress, and dove in. After I got out I set on the back porch nude, with my parents and sister and no one acted any different.

travisg, I'm thinking if you own the house, you should be able to do what you want, even if people are uncomfortable with it. It seems to pop up a lot that no one wants to impose their nudity on others, which is a nice and generous thought. But how about having clothes imposed upon you?

This is all hypothetical, though, because I have absolutely no guts in this realm. I'm living back at home for the time being and I can't get up the courage to tell my parents about my nudism. So, I just wait till the house is empty as I did when I was a kid. I can't figure out if they'd mind or not, but that's too much of a leap for me. I figure I'll probably slip up and be discovered and then it'll go from there.

Ideally they'd then want to join in, but I doubt that as well. This isn't necessarily a modest family, but the idea might just be too radical. So, I'll have to wait for when I have my own family.

I was in my twenties and between homes and had to stay at my parents' home for a while. I had to sleep on the sofa that made into a bed. One night as I got ready for bed, I had gotten undressed and put on just a robe with nothing under it. I've always slept nude. My parents were up and watching TV. I stood with my back to them and removed the robe before getting into bed. My mother said, "You could have warned me first!" What was so embarrassing about seeing my butt? I told her I didn't think it would matter since she could only see me from the back. Apparently I was wrong.

Jon-Marc -- the robe thing might just work. I just showered and have no interest in throwing anything on just yet. That at least could introduce that I don't always feel the need to be dressed.

I probably make a bigger deal than it would be to see me nude. The big step for them would be adjusting to my being nude all the time. But, as I've said, I'm sleeping nude now without compunctions.
