      Nude Beach (mixed)
      Haulover State Park
Located midway between Fort Lauderdale and Miami. Take US1 south from Ft. Lauderdale to Dania Beach Blvd. Take Dania Beach Blvd. east to the ocean, turning south on A1A. Take A1A past State Road 826 (Sunny Isle Causeway) to Haulover State Park. Parking is on the right side of the road, and there is a small admission fee. You walk through a tunnel under the road to reach the beach. The gay section is to the left (north) end of the beach.

      Have fun.

it will take forever to take A1A from dania to haulover. Better idea is to take I95 south and get off at the Miami exit. i am not sure which exiit it is, but please do not take A1A all the way down unless you have a lot of time.

Haulover is definitely in Miami, not Broward County or Ft. Lauderdale.

            Hi David,

Thanks for the tip. Is Haulover State Beach a designated exit? Also, other than the obvious, are there signs that designate the clothing opitonal beach. The reason I ask is that here in San Diego at Black's Beach (which I frequent) I accidentially wondered into a section (unmarked) that was not cloting optional. I got busted by the lifeguard.

            Thanks,
            SD

Haulover (County) Park is on A1A also known as Collins Blvd. It is not limited access. The park is clearly marked. You need to enter at either of the three northern most entrances. The clothing optional sections are clearly marked and since you need to wait until you are on the sand, just look around. It would be improbable that you'll be the only one there. Lifeguard stands 25, 26, 27 qnd 28 are on the nude beach. Parking fee is $5. Food, drinks and chairs and umbrellas are available on the beach at resort prices. The beach is lifeguard protected and police patrolled. Remember, it is legal. Unacceptable behavior will get you kicked off or even arrested. Cameras, sexual activity, drugs or drunkeness are not tolerated. Remember the sunscreen. You will get cooked in a short time.

It's less than a 1/2 hour from Fort Lauderdale. Aim for 155th Street and Collins.

Why don't you use Map Quest?

To be exact, Haulover Beach is not in Miami but east of Miami in the Miami Beach area, which is a seperate municipality. Both are in Dade County. Miami Beach has a number of causeways connecting the seperate municipality of Miami Beach from the seperate city of Miami.

                        Hello Everyone,

Thanks for your directions. I found Haulover Beach and had a great time visiting this past week. The weather was pretty hot and the water was nice and warm (much more so than the Pacific).

Now that it's finally warming up in Southern California, I'm looking forward to visiting my home town nude beach; Black's Beach.

                        Thanks again,

                        L8R,

Haulover beach would be the nearest one.
