I am going to be in Florida in September and thinking of visiting Haulover, Playalinda or Apollo. Does anyone have any information about these beaches - what the crowd is like, gender mix, mix of textiles vs. nudists, and other information. I may be there on a weekend or weekday so does that make a difference. Thanks.

I checked those links out. The links are great for Haulover but for Playalinda and Apollo less clear. It seems that Apollo is co tolerated (legal?) but Playalinda is not - although the latter seems more popular and parking is better....so if anyone has current information I should would appreiciate a response

Just a short note to let you know that I was at Playalinda last Saturday and on Wednesday.
The National Parks Service has posted several signs on the road into the park saying nudity is prohibited on the beach. Yet if you go to parking lot 13 and head north a little ways you will find a stretch where nudity is tolerated. I might add that rangers were at parking lot 12 and they did not bother the nudists - and they would know they were there since the parking lots were quite full.
I got there around 2 pm on Saturday afternoon and I would guess that there were about 100 to 150 people on the beach. There were about 40 collected together playing volleyball and then the balance were spread out along the beach. I saw lots of mf couples, some mm or ff couples, some solo males, ages were all the way from 20 somethings to 60 somethings.
Wednesday was a different story. Only about 20, and mostly diehard tanned allovers with very few cotton tails. AGain though, quite an age group and a mix of mf couples, and solo males.
This is a great wilderness setting which is great to be at. Even with hurrican Isidore causing rain in the interior of Florida, the coast was partly clouded and certainly great for nude sunning and beaching. Try it sometime.

Nudity is permitted at Apollo Beach south of Parking Lot #5 (the final lot before the end of the road). Nudity is not allowed until you get to a Park Service sign advising visitors of the possibility of seeing nude sunbathers.
I enjoyed my visit to Apollo Beach, even under less than ideal conditions. Do bring water! There are restrooms, but no drinking fountains at the parking lot. For more details, visit The Friends of Apollo Beach Web Page

As far as I know, Haulover is the only officially recognized nude beach in Florida. I think that anywhere else you are taking your chances, which, I suppose, means you are banking on whether it is an election year and the local sheriff wants some publicity. As to who is at Haulover, the answer is Everyone! Public lewdness (i.e., sexual activity) is not tolerated, however, there are piercings a-plenty as well as C-rings and same-sex couples, as well as families, singles and everyone in between. The attitude is, "Live and let live."
