  • Trying to put together nudist group at university- Advice?

    Hi all,
I go to school in Maryland. We just recently got inivited to a Bowl game in San Degio. The school is really pushing people to go ( paying for tickets ect) so alot of students are going. I was in San Degio this summer and went to Black Beach. I was thinking of maby trying to put together a trip to the beach and if it works start a nudist club. My school is conservative in gerneral so the club would be unoffical but better than nothing. I am going to put up flyers, Take a look, any suggestion would be great.
" Have you ever wanted to go to a nude beach? But been to afraid, or did not want to go alone. Have you ever went and want the experince again. San Degio has a great clothing Optional Beach. To enjoy everything the beach has to offer, surf, sand, sun, beer, bbq, but with a little twist, send an e-mail to the adress below with question and to get details. This is a co-ed event and is not sexual in any aspect. Please only serious replys"

Ok 2 questions : do you think it will be to cold to go to blacks ( the game is Dec 22 so it would be the 21 or 23)
2nd question do you think anyone would respond?

I'm sure you would get a lot of replies from guys wanting to know if there are going to be a lot of naked girls there.

hopefully not but ill deal with them if I do. Do you think it is a bad idea. I just feel nothing is being done on the college level. It is almost as if people are afraid to really do somthing and introduce college students to nudism.

I see nothing wrong in trying to get a college group interested. Be aware, however, that grand success is difficult. Can you set your goals on the low side? I mean, if you get 5 people, is that okay?

Some places at colleges are easier than others to find people who may be interested. Generally but not exclusively, hangouts for left-wing types work better. Environmentalists, vegans, actors perhaps.

Make sure your rules are few but clear. I'm interested to know how it works out!

It can be warm enough for a bit of beach nudity but it is not guaranteed. I live about 30 miles to the north and it was nice today around 70 or so from noon until 2:30 then it began to slowly cool down.

You will be here around the coldest time of the year. A better option might be to head out to The Swallows/Sun Island near El Cajone. It is about 30 miles east of San Diego. I think the gate fees for a college student for a day would be around 15-20 dollars. Further east around 50-60 miles east along I-8 is De Anza they have a first time free gate pass you can download off their web site. So it would only be the cost of a rental car and the gas to go there for the day. Both have web sites so give them a look. Who knows you might get lucky and have great weather for the beach.

As to the other part of the question I think JonMarc is right you will likely get many responses from horny guys looking for naked girls. Unless, you find a girl who can help you market it right and get the word out to other girls at your school. Most will quite rightly assume, like the guys, that this is a oggle-fest a chance to eyeball the goodies and maybe hook-up. It is all about getting that first girl to listen to you as you explain your idea. Goodluck let us know how it goes.

Usually during this time of year, southern California's beaches are great. I know, we go to the coast pretty often, and the weather in the winter time is quite warm, as compared to the valley, where it is very cold.

Hope everything turns out okay for you. Hope you get some takers to accompany you to the beach.

I think the school in Annapolis would really frown on this. Be careful with your career.

Maybe less words on the Flyer? You could use my idea and start up a website that introduces people to the idea of nudism in a more complete way. OR....you could set up a "group" on MySpace and have a domain name like "www.myspace.com/~whaever name you want~

I like your idea, I've wanted to try it myself, just no time lately. Please let me/us know how your venture goes!!

No ideas, but I can say that college types often show up at WTP for a day of a weekend. SOme girls and guys just get together and drop in on occasion. There's always volleyball, pool, and other activities available.
And it's only 2 1/2 hours from you.

Despite my belief that you will get a lot of guys hoping to see naked girls, it's still a good idea to try to get people involved in non-sexual social nudity. The hard part will be to convince people that it's NOT sexual, and what do textile young people think about when they think about guys and gals getting together naked?

You might want to contact Cheri Alexander who has put together what I have been told is a terrific presentation for colleges and college students. You can find Cheri's address on this forum, or go to the AANR website and look up Travelites in South Carolina (Cheri's club). Good Luck.

PS Frank, the only way you can get to WTP from Maryland in 2 1/2 hours is if you go part way by plane. I live 20 miles south of DC on 95 and I'm lucky if I can make the 152 mile trip in under 3 hours (traffic being what it is)

                          Hi, Jack --

I guess you know of the Black's Beach Bares website -- http://www.blacksbeach.org . You can check with them for info on weather, or to try to coordinate your trip with any other events they might have going on that day.

Hello jack1857. In answering one of your questions, I definitely think it will be a bit too cold for a trip to Black's Beach in December unless you or they are extreme diehards! In some Midwestern states, many of the nudist/naturists engage in snowball fights stark naked during the winter months! See what I mean? I do wish you the very best of luck in your quest for starting a nudist group on your campus. I have found this is a very difficult subject or topic to promote outside the nudist circle or environment. I have found you just can't walk up to someone and ask them if they would like to go to a nudist resort or nude beach. Nine chances out of ten, they are going to look at you like you're from Mars!Especially if they are females! I am not trying to discourage you in any way, but I am simply telling you my experiences. Good luck!
