Is it just me or do nude beaches sometimes attract "unique" characters?

One guy I saw dug himself a foxhole and was very turtle like in nature, he just sort of hung out in his fort. Another guys was a cross between Fabio and Weird-al-yankovich. He prefered to be in mesh-white bikershorts with a metalic blue thong on top.

What are some of the strangest, funniest, or most unique people you have seen?

Hey Fresh Air, I don't know where in CA you are, but here in central CA I see some strange people almost daily. I imagine the bigger cities have their share of strange people. [img]/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif[/img]
The strangest person I saw was a couple of years ago. It was the middle of summer, about 105 degrees, and there was a lady walking through the Wal-Mart parking lot with a heavy fur coat on! [img]/infopop/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif[/img] As she passed by, I noticed she had on heavy make-up. She reminded me of a character that Carol Burnette used to portray on her show, the washed up actress that was living in the past. [img]/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif[/img]
I asked the security guy what her trip was and he told me she dressed like that all the time! [img]/infopop/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif[/img]

You know....I'm wondering, is it that nude beaches attract "unique" characters,....or is it that at the nude beach, your "character" is more likely to get noticed. After all, if a person was wearing an outlandish outfit, then peculiar behavior probably wouldn't even get noticed. Perhaps I should have posted this under "Things that make you go Hmmmmmmm..."
