    . m said this:

"Because s don't think of sex when they undress, because s don't think of sex when they are engaged in wholesome family activities. Because s don't grab a towel for cover, after taking a shower in fear of having others view them in a 'sex obsessed' manner? Who are the perverts then?"

    And

"Why would anyone want to teach their children their bodies are disgusting, unacceptable and offensive to even look at? Why would anyone want to teach their children self shame, self disgust and to despise their body or any one else's body? Why would anyone set a bad example to their children by having a prejudicial bigotry against another group of people?"

Why would they say this? Naturism is cool and all but the only reason these guys are saying it becuase they want to walk around nude in public places and are not allowed to. That's why there are camps. Besides, nobody feels disgusted by ones body, clothing is just a custom. I'm nude in my house but when I go out I wear clothes. Geez.

    Agreed!

Both my wife and I instill the ownership of the body and to be proud of it to our children. We appear to have done so well, that our 10yo came out with a grin from ear to ear announcing that she has begun growing breasts.

It is also important to use real names for body parts, not pet names to instil a healthy attitude to the body.

I would love to know of all those suffering eating disorders, how many have been raised in a nudist household.

Nudists generally do not want to walk the streets nude(well not all the time anyway ).
But it would be nice if the general public did not freak out any time they spy a bit of naked flesh,or discover you are a nudist, naturist or just someone who enjoys chilling out au NATURAL.

The reason they do freak out is explained in the first two paragraphs of your post.

Many clothes are designed to incite sexual desire. No wonder "textiles" are perverts.

Respectfully, I have to disagree with a portion of your statement. I would very much like to be able to take my evening walks outside nude, even my runs. Walking to the store nude would be inviting. The definite potential of arrest, booked, and prosecution prevent me from walking the streets nude in the summer.

Here at Cap d'Adge it is possible to walk the streets, go shopping, do every day things in a state of undress and without fear of any backlash, its quite refreshing and a great pity there aren't more places where nudity in an every day context is acceptable.

If a clothing optional town were created in the USA, why would it have to be different to any other town, naturist communities tend to be more like camp sites or resorts, why not ordinary streets and shops, but clothing optional.

Pete Knight, if a town were created here in the USA where clothing optional were the dress of the day then there would be tons of news people there at first which would draw tons of gawkers which would draw tons of resisting activity from activists that would create tons of laws and policies and on and on this would go.

We live in the nation of 'Supposed To' and you are simply 'Supposed To' be textiled in public and no town is 'Supposed To' be clothing optional.

In the land of the free, not all non harmful freedoms abound.

If I remember correctly there was a town in Arizona or New Mexico that was creating itself as a nude town. I remember reading about it years ago. I don't know what the final disposition of it is. I do know it was in the Southwest, not in Texas where I think another place was that tried to become a nudist town.

There was a story in Nudes in the News back in 2000 by Ray Dow, about his efforts to start a nude township near Arizona.

Ray's group had an urban planning and architectural design expert on the plan, and a website (now gone) with details about the 'dream'. Alas they never really got the firm commitment to fund the project needed to get it off the ground.

Ray hit the news again in 2001 when he fought off an alligator that attacked his wife - twice - at Lake Como Resort in Florida. Very fortunately Dagmar Dow survived the attack.
