Naked Yoga

For those who practice Yoga naked is it in an organized class or private group or alone? Also, do you practice it outdoors?

I regularly attend a clothed Yoga group and there would be no way to turn that one into clothing optional or naked.

If anyone knows of any groups in the Charlotte area I would love to know about it.

I've attended a few sessions of nude yoga in the New York City area.

Very relaxing.

Don't know of any in the Charlotte area.

I practice my yoga first thing in the morning, right after I shower (before coffee, even!), so I do it naked. I live in an apartment, so there is no possibility of doing it outside (though I will do it out in the open at a nudist resort this week-end).

My yoga instruction has been always clothed, though; and I understand (from reading about naked yoga on the web) that there are reasons for preferring clothes. But I have done classes naked at a nudist resort.

My nude yoga practice is solo at home. The class I attend weekly is 5 women and 2 men. The instructor and I, being the only men, would not be able to lead the class to a c/o or nude class.

As to practicing outdoors, I practice my yoga from May to September on a screened porch . The porch setting allows me to have a firm, level support under my mat and still be outside to feel the natural elements. There are days when I practice in the center of the backyard without a mat.

Checking what resources I know of on the web, I see no nude classes in the area of Charlotte. Maybe it is time for you to speak up and get one going.

I attended a nude yoga session in Columbus, Ohio the year before last. There were 8-10 people there, and it was a lot of fun.
