      U.S. Forest Service lands in the northern part of the state, south of Flagstaff (I-40) are quite accessible and have a few dead-end roads. No permit is required unless you are planning on a fire during the dry season, then they may be prohibited entirely! So plan on using a camp stove with cooking fuel (eg. Sterno) instead of the traditional, open wood fire.

      Canyon State Naturists (CSN) used to organize events in the Coconino National Forest.

        coconino and tonto have banned fires at the campgrounds due to high fire danger

          Prescott National forest has banned open campfires also along with most of Yavapai County.
