I'll second that. Take the road to Tribune Bay but at the penultimate intersection go right not left. Right takes you to the main Tribune Bay provincial park; right takes you to the west side of Tribune Bay (which is divided by a small peninsula).

I think yellowstud may be referring to Van Tan Club in North Vancouver, BC. According their website, it is "only 30 minutes from downtown Vancouver."

I don't know how old is your gf daughter is. But I think you will find more relaxing in the Wreck beach. It is a clothing optional beach and the beach officers are very friendly. In fact one of my friends works there.

Just keep in mind that to get the clothing optional section / area you have to walk down a very steep hill from the street or from the UBC campus as I usually did. I don't know if you can walk through the other side of the beach to avoid that steep hill. I have never tried it.

I heard there is a clothing optional club in the north of Vanco, across the bridge. I have never been in that club, but I heard it is good.

I'm going out West with my gf and her daughter in July and could anyone tell me of clothing optional places in the Vancouver area other than Wreck Beach ?
