Memorial Day weekend ahead -- plans ????

This weekend is Mermorial Day - three-day weekend in the United States and the traditional start of summer. So...ooo...ooo

Who's got plans? We may spend one or two days at our "camp" -- and I am shocking and cleaning our hot tub for the possibility of any guests. Also my freezer is on the fritz so we may have a "steak cookout" -- six sirloins now.....

We are headed to our club for 4 days and nights starting Monday, Memorial Day. Our weekend, starting Friday, is jammed packed with grandkids sports events; volleyball, soccer, baseball and softball. After a weekend of traveling from one sports event to another, we concluded that what we'll really need is 4 days of sun and relaxation ... without having to be dressed. We are looking forward to it.

Pancake breakfast at the downtown church. Then the Memorial Day Parade. And then the program honoring those who gave their lives for our freedom. I can not party on Memorial Day.

I was going to head out to Pirate's Cove in Avila, but the forecast is too risky. Clouds and fog. So, I'll just stay nude around the ranch. Sunny and warm for sure.

Going to camp for the weekend, Hope the weather men are wrong they are predicting rain for the whole weekend but warm temperatures

I will more than likely be with either my family or friends for a cookout. But before that, I am going to attend an annual Memorial Day service at our local cemetery. Included in the service will be a formation flyover from one of our local historic warbird squadrons. This is the true meaning of the holiday.

This Memorial Day will have dual meaning for us. As a veteran, I pay tribute to our military, living and dead. I also pay tribute to them in some form of celebrating and lightened attitude because I'm sure they'd all want us to enjoy ourselves while respecting the ultimate sacrifice they gave. We were planning on going to the club today, after a couple of baseball games for our grandson but now this Memorial Day will bring yet another death to deal with ... a very close, lifelong friend. We await the text message from his sons. At least we were able to spend the day with him yesterday.

... but ... we were able to make it and we are enjoying some distraction time at the club! It's really warm here and not too crowded. Looking forward to a day around the pool tomorrow and Thursday!
