  • When The Resorts Are Closed. . .

The weather is finally heating up to consistent nude-friendly temperatures, but unfortunately the clubs and campgrounds around here are still closed. That said, a recent event sparked my interest in exploring different local avenues to go nude.

On a hiking trip the other day, a couple of friends and I were walking through the woods and heard some motion from off the trail. When we looked over, we noticed a completely naked young woman scurrying over a rock to get out of our view. Part of me wanted to investigate, but I figured in the current situation she probably would have been frightened by a group of people, or even one person, walking over to talk to her. So we let it go and just kept walking. Now I don't know if she was walking nude, relaxing on the rock, or up to some less suitable activities, but it still got me thinking about being a bit more bold in my attempts to go naked when I couldn't hit the resort.

One method I thought of, while somewhat limiting in terms of movement, was to just cover the railings of my front porch with a bunch of sheets and blankets to close it in at the bottom, and just sunbathe nude. Probably looks really suspicious from the outside, but it gets the job done. I'm also looking into secluded areas to maybe get in some skinny dipping, but that'll require more preparation.

So what inventive ways have any of you found to be naked outdoors when the surroundings aren't ideal?

I have stretched liberties many times. Back in 2007, the lake near me flooded and all roads into a great park were closed for several weeks. Since the area was next to my neighborhood which was still under heavy development, I owned it as my private eden. I could run 5 miles without carrying anything, and walk for hours without fear of being caught. It ended once the road opened up and I was out for a morning run when HS ROTC group came running through. I just managed to evade them without being seen. I also fish on the lake I visit every summer whenever possible. It's a mid sized lake with limited activity and I can spend 2-3 hours out on the boat heating good sun.

One other instance I'll mention. I was visiting the island of Bonaire, staying at Sorobon, no longer nude unfortunately, when we went to the national park for the day. It's about 1/3 of the island and was sparsely inhabited that day so I took full advantage of the time. Visited all the major sites and only once had to cover up. Stopped off at a private beach and spent some time tanning and snorkeling without worry. The closest people near us were two young ladies from Germany and could likely tell I was nude but said nothing. It was a great day and a great week.

I suppose I am more blessed than others with opportunity. But I manage to find ways to get free whenever possible.

Living here in Southern California, the weather doesn't affect our clubs or resorts ... or even our nude beach for that matter, much. It does get too cold, even here, to be naked but the clubs and resorts don't close. Nude activities end up happening indoors, in the rec centers, the hot tubs become more crowded and even though nudists might not be completely nude, they will, most times, still gather in robes and continue to socialize. Given all the things that some people dislike about our state, you can't beat the weather and the nudist opportunities!

So, to paraphrase...even blind squirrels get their nuts sometmes? I guess it's true that every state has some redeeming virtue....Texas included.

Indoor events mostly - the weather makes it relatively prohibitive to be outdoors nude most of the time.

This is a good topic every year in the fall so I'll reply to move it back up to the top.
So what do you do when the nudist clubs are closing for the winter? The clubs near Atlanta are open but the pools are close at the two I go. I may go anyway on warm days to hang out naked for a few hours.

for you in AZ, it's when you have to put on a sweater or light jacket when you go out in public. you do own at least one of those don't you?
in college (MANY moons ago), i visited my brother out in napa valley one january. it was in the 50s and 60s. i was wearing my sweater, happy to have ditched my winter coat. the people out there were wearing the parkas like the one i had just been "freed" from. seasons are all a matter of perspective.

I had a similar experience in Florida about fifteen years ago. From Michigan's Upper Peninsula to Florida at that time required no acclamation. Temperatures in the sixties had me in shorts and a tee shirt. Natives were in heavy coats, hats, and gloves. One guide looked at me and said, "You must be from the north."

On the topic there are many remote places to be nude here outside, but most of my nude time is spent in the house. Our yard is open on all sides and we have no resorts or beaches close by. That is unless you are willing to walk a bit. I have a favorite spot on Lake Superior that can be very private most days, especially in January and February.

My Plan "B" is totally clothes free at home. 24/7. With this pandemic, seems to vary by state. Some are open others not. Not the case at home.

Winter is setting in this week. Upper 20's and low 30'sF, near 0 C. I should have gone to one of the local nudist clubs during these last few weeks when there were some warm days. But then there's Covid too so maybe I'll stay away from the clubs until summer or at least until I've had my shots.

So, now its mid January and there is no warm-up on my weather app. Sometimes there are 3-4 warmer days in late Jan.🥶🥶 So no visits to the resorts on nude hiking.

This is why I am so thankful my family decided to move from Montreal to the San Fernando Valley back when I was 5 years old.
Today (01/16/2021) it was over 80 degrees fahrenheit and I was able to get several hours of cloths free hiking in up by Castaic Lake.
Of course Tuesday they are forecasting a high of 60 degrees, 30 to 50 MPH winds and the possibility of snow in the mountains.
