  • Convincing your neigbours to allow you to go naked

This is for people that live in cities or towns.
If the Council makes a ruling that if 2/3 of the street agrees to it, the road could be declared a clothing-optional zone. Signs would be placed on either end of the street, and once it is announced a clothing-optional street, it would take 2/3 to change it again. Do you think you could talk your neighbours into it?

    Nope. I know my neighbors.

It would never happen. I live on a corner and the school bus travels on the one street which is a connector between college and high school.

It was enough to let the neighbors know that I'm naked in the backyard and ask if it would offend them. ALL of them had no objections. Yes, I did go door to door to ask and all approved.
The front is quite a bit different. Not only would you be exposed to the neighbors, you would also be exposed to any traffic and those who would be visiting neighbors. The neighbors with little ones would be the toughest to sell.
As long as I can enjoy the back in the buff, I really don't see any reason to even approach the neighbors for the front.

Even if the neighbors ALL agreed, its not going to happen. The street is public property and is not a private road. Taxpayers come from the whole city/town and taxes talk.

That is why I said the opening post if the town council ruled that if two-thirds of the neighbourhood agreed, it would be a clothing-optional zone. So it would get the approval of the city.

That may be true for the most part, but there would definitely be challenges in court by those who oppose, you know, "the squeaky wheel concept"?
There have been various cities that had nude-friendly zones, but those zones were challenged and nudity was banned, and yes, those who opposed were the silent minority.
We are definitely living in different times and seems like EVERYONE is offended by whatever they decide they want to be offended by, from whatever they choose at the time.

nudeM, just assume everything is legal and all court cases uphold that. ranul just offered up a thought exercise. Treat it as such.

As for me, I live in a town home complex with only eight houses on the street. I don't think I could convince them to do so. It would be interesting if the street done were a cul de sac.

First, assume everything is legal. Back on point, there were "areas" within city limits that allowed nudity. But over time, people started to complain and then the City Council banned nudity, even in areas that were approved. The courts sided with the Councils because it was within the Councils' rights to "rezone". If it was legal and the courts sided with the legality, then yes, nudity wouldn't be an issue. I, for one, would freely take advantage of the ruling.
Secondly, as far as asking the neighbors, I approached them about me being in the backyard, sans clothes. They all had no objections. I would never attempt for ask for their "permission" to be nude in the front. Our backyard shares a fence with four other yards. The back is split between two.
There's only four houses on my side of the street and four across the street. The problem is, the traffic comes from several different directions. A cul-de-sac would be great, but then again, you still have visitors that are not from the area. with one common access.
These are just my opinions. I wish one day, it would be legal and I can roam anywhere, front and back, in the buff.

I have a very private backyard pool with a high hedge. Here I am behind that hedge. I don’t think the neighbors have ever seen. If I want to have the opportunity to walk naked down a street, I would go to a naturist club or a legal nude beach. Real freedom there!

No chance of happening in our street and it's a cul de sac. Our side neighbors have made it verbally known that they disapprove with how we would like to spend our time out side our home and our back neighbor raised their back fence with lattice fencing.

At Least they showed their disapproval by building a higher fence instead of calling the cops or did they try that as well

I agree, there's no chances people agree on this

Too bad they don't find out if their kids are bothered by nudity. Most likely, they wouldn't care or think it was funny, and there would be children bothered by it.
