Taking kids to a nude beach

My wife and I have never taken our daughter to a nudist resort or beach, but we do have a backyard pool. My wife and I always use the backyard pool nude. My daughter did until she approached her teenage years, after which she insisted on wearing a swimsuit. That seems to be typical.
As a general rule, nobody should ever be placed under duress to go nude.

First of all, you should already have an idea of the kids views of being around nudists. If the kids are not comfortable when Mom and Dad are always naked, then why would you even bother taking them to a nude beach? If, on the other hand, they are comfortable, then by all means, I wouldn't mind taking them. If the kids are not comfortable, then why even bother asking them to go along.
Just my opinion.

The rules at a nude beach are clothes optional. That is how it should be for everyone, kids included. It is similar to nudist clubs and resorts--rules are rules. Mostly it is nudity optional but recommended except for pools where it is required.
"As a general rule, nobody should ever be placed under duress to go nude."
Technically Mosquito, as a general rule, nobody should ever be placed under duress to go clothed either.

We brought our daughter with us to the resort and non-landed club the majority of her preteen years. We'd already been home-nudists for a while so we fairly confident our daughter would adapt well. She was never forced to accompany us; on the contrary she would look forward to playing naked at the resort. And like many kids, she decided she no longer wanted to go when she started hitting puberty. Still didn't force her.

When we started our naturist journey in 1982 we had two children, Daughter aged 2 and son aged 1. We joined a club and the children were okay with being naked. We went on to have another daughter. But when the eldest got to the age of 12 she did not want to carry on going to the club and stripping off so we had to cease activities. After a break of about 8 years we were on holiday in Fuertventura and went down to the beach from our "textile" hotel and were able to go naked again. We took the opinion that we would never make them go to a naturist swim although occasionally our youngest was given the option if she wanted to go.

Years back, took the family of us three. Son was unwilling to go naked by digging his heels in the sand. I offered him an option. "You can go down that water slide totally naked or stay dressed and not go on it." He thought about it for about ten seconds and decided he wanted to go down the water slide. The clothes flew off as he ran to the slide. We were at a nudist site. He was about 6. The problem is from the environment, that is the people around us. Nudity was, and still is, frowned upon. And it has gotten worse around in the USA.
Yes , it is the choice of the individual. But when it comes to children, often the parents have to offset the prejudice of those who influence our children when they are not at hand. We have to work with children so they learn how to make their own decisions.
