Wife wants to play in a RIFTS campaign

Yes, and she's a nudist. I was the one who introduced her to nudism (actually, now she has the feeling that it's holy). So, she asked if she could play in a Rifts game with my group. Naturally, it's an online game, so people aren't going to notice her. However, the responses I've been getting has the range of respectful to comical. However, I don't want to expose my wife to these people, even though she feels that her nudity is holy.

She really does want to play in a Rifts game. She wants to participate in two: a game set in the New West, and a game set in Atlantis. The New West game is my online game. To explain, the New West setting is like the Old West. A cultural mix of actual history and Western movies. It's a culture where John Wayne and Clint Eastwood are seen as heroes to emulate. My wife wants to play a naked elf cowgirl. Figuring on how she feels about nudity, it doesn't surprise me. I suggested that we visit a dude ranch, so she can get a feeling of the cowboy culture. She said no.

I most likely am from another generation, so I have no idea what RIFTS might be. In terms of the issue of whether or not your wife should be encouraged to participate, one perspective is that she knows that the RIFTS experience means a lot to you and she wants to share that. So, you might consider that in addition to whom she might be exposed to.

I cannot really comment on the dude ranch question. Maybe you can find a nude, dude ranch (I do not know of one) and that would change the dynamics.

Have you heard of Dungeons and Dragons? RIFTS is a competitor Roleplaying Game (or RPG). It's set in the Future after a nuclear exchange. After the exchange huge doorways into space and time ripped open and released a lot of horrors. Which killed a lot of people, which would open more rifts, which would kill a lot of people, until there is a psychic equilibrium. The book's cover looks like this:
