Four Types of Nudism

I saw a post in another forum that defines four types of nudism.

1. Bedroom Nudism - Bedroom nudists practice nudism in well their bedroom.
2. Home Nudism - Home nudists practice nudism in their house.
3. Family Nudism - Family nudists practice nudism in their house with their family.
4. Public/Social Nudism - Public/Social nudists practice nudism in public together, this is the type that you will see promoted on nudist forums & websites.

Virtually everyone practices bedroom nudism.

Home nudism and family nudism blur together. I suppose you could distinguish the two by further defining home nudism as applying to either a single person or a couple who live without other family members.

Most people who give the matter any consideration think of the term nudism as referring to public/social nudism, but many members of this forum seem to fall in the home nudism or family nudism categories.

Sole home nudist here. Would love to participate in social, but I get enough nude time here at home, I'm happy. Yes, I will go to a nude beach, but the nearest one is two hours away. My wife doesn't participate, so it's just me.

My opinion:

I personally wouldn't consider bedroom nudism to be nudism at all. It's just "sleeping naked" to me.

I agree that family-nudism is also often going to be home-nudism. It can be difficult to make it out to the resort frequently when you have kids; and if you have a backyard and pool (enclosed) it's simpler to just keep it at home.

I like the term "recreational/social nudist." That's what I consider my wife and I to be. We go to a "nude-mandatory" resort; and to us it's like a mini-vacation with the purpose of relaxing and getting back to nature, completely naked. We also have friends and acquaintances there with whom we hang out and socialize when we're not off around the resort being "one with nature."
But we don't spend that much time naked at home.

Places to be nude in a social setting are much farther away for me. Five hours would be the closest unless you figure places where the legality is questionable and there is little chance of getting caught.

My wife and I both come from family's that weren't into naturism. They didn't frown on nudity but also didn't practice nudity. When my wife and I meet and dated and got married we would remain nude whilst in the house, I don't recall discussing anything about us being nude together when indoors but it did change when we began to have children, and we now both agree that was a mistake.
So we missed out on the family nudism but now the kids are adults and no longer live at home but do know about our lifestyle. We are back to the beginning and we know so much more now.
We enjoy our time at home being nude but also enjoy being social with like minded people who also enjoy being naturally nude.
