  • We rejoined AANR after a 10+ year hiatus....we like what we see

The Bulletin, even the online edition, appears to be vastly improved over what it was when we dropped our membership some years ago.

And it appears to be discussing CONTEMPORARY issues in nudism.

By contrast, "N" magazine, although the summer edition showed some improvement, has been more of a history journal in the last two years and repetitive - different content but with the same themes.

The semi-weekly online Zoom chats grant access to the top officers in the organization. They are nice people. Easy to chat with.

We plan on attending the AANR convention at Solair for two days next week and we look forward to meeting folks there.

    Is anyone else going?

We were members of AANR and TNS many years ago. The problem with AANR was that it was resort focused, which was natural because it was basically an umbrella association for resorts, but it was frustrating that it wasn't much of an advocate for nude beaches. TNS was at the opposite extreme. It was a great advocate for nude beaches, but didn't offer any benefits at resorts. I did like that it was associated with a legal foundation and a library of nudist history. The ideal thing would be for the organizations to merge, but I understand there is a history of animosity that would prevent that. We'll have to check out the websites of both organizations to see if we should join again.

You are probably aware that the NAC/NEF (Naturist Action Committee/Naturist Educational Foundation) are now autonomous from TNSF (The Naturist Society Foundation). NAC/NEF shared a table at the AANR Convention with the AANR GAT (Government Affairs Team).

TNSF does have a nudist/naturist library in Oshkosh. However, the biggest library is at the ANRL in Kissimmee, on the Cypress Cove grounds.

Thanks! I hadn't realized that the library at Cypress Cove was was an independent organization and that the TNS library was a separate entity.
