Just a heads up for anyone who may not have heard - The Naturist Society will be holding its "Southern Naturist Gathering" next week (Oct 6-9) here at Lake Como resort in Florida. These gathering are always very entertaining and educational, with workshops, sports, games, and organized activities for both adults and children. Should be a blast - I'll definately be there!

How did the Southern Naturist Gathering go Last weekend Doug? I would have loved to have been there. Did anyone take you up on your offer of extra room at your house?

It was cloudy and rainy (sometimes heavily) here most of the time the gathering was underway so I decided not to go. From what I have heard the event was rather disappointing.

The Oktoberfest is this weekend and I may go if it is nice out.

Also, next month Como is having a benefit concert for the hurricane victims (seems a little late to me but I guess every bit still helps).

And no, I had no takers on the offer of free lodging.

Actually it was only raining sporatically on Saturday. Friday and Sunday were fine. I brought my parrot along and we both played in the rain.

Not many showed up but the event was still exciting and full of new things to learn at the workshops. So much enthusiasm there!

I had my craft tent set up and saw a lot of old friends that I've not seen in months. Got phone numbers and made plans for some nuding activities.

Saw Shirley and Richard Mason, the founders of Haulover Beach and Morley Schloss who owns Sunsport but we were all too busy for long conversations. Did get some hugs in though. Also got to meet Nikki from the Naturist Society.

Unfortunately the two old guys I used to look after both passed away and I only found out during this event. That was the only part that was a downer though.

Sunday was a trip to Ft DeSoto Park but I was unable to go because I still had my booth going. I heard it was a great time. The best part is that the rangers knew about this event and only came by once, not hassling anyone. They did get dressed till the rangers left so they weren't forcing them to do something they really weren't up to. That means they don't want to bother with the nudists. How great is that?

It would be nice to have something like a gathering in Utah but it would have to be held on fed land

Sorry you feel that way but I still like to hear of what went on and that good people got to meet up at such events. If anyone's got anything to add when such a event takes place, I certainly think this is the place to discuss it, and that we should all feel free to do so.

Is this parrot a big talker? How did you get it?
What kind of crafts do you sell?

That parrot is a Mexican Redhead Amazon and he was given to me because he's got some behavioral problems. He's not a big talker, doesn't say nearly as much as my two Quakers do and they don't cost nearly as much.

I took the parrot that day because I wanted to encourage him to bond with me. It worked, he's finally letting me rub his head and touch him. The first time was right there at my tent.

I do animal rescue pretty regularly but mostly dogs.

What do I sell? I make things out of wood, paint windows and make my own jewelry as well.
