5-May-07 is World Naked Gardening Day

Hello all,

World Naked Gardening Day has been in September for the last two years.

This year, WNGD is on May 5th.

Some friends and I are planning to plant flowers at Hippie Hollow Clothing Optional Park on Lake Travis in Austin, TX. (Note: Travis County Rule - Entry to the park is restricted to those people 18 years and older.) Afterwards, we may head to The Oasis for a Cinco de Mayo dinner.

If you'd like to join us, we'll be the ones wandering around Hippie Hollow with Flowers, Shovels, and Potting Soil!

We're not so fortunate as to have a nudist friendly park around here but we do have a nice little veggie garden in our backyard we'll be working on.

So how do you go about getting a clothing-optional park in you neighborhood anyway?

Not possible in Sacramento, California, City or County unless in your private fenced area not visible to the general public from the street.

130-173.4 State of Semi-Nudity

The showing of the female breast below a horizontal line across the top of the areola at its highest point or
The showing of the male or female buttocks. This definition shall include the entire lower portion of the
Human female breast, but shall not include any portion of the cleavage of the human female breast
Exhibited by a dress, blouse, skirt, leotard, bathing suit, or other wearing apparel provided the areola is not
Exposed in whole or in part. (Adopted 4/04)


9.04.060 Nudity. [City of Sacramento]
It is unlawful for any person to appear, bathe, sunbathe, walk or be in any public park, playground, or beach, or the waters adjacent thereto, located within the city, in such a manner that the genitals, vulva, pubis, pubic hair, buttocks, perineum, anus, anal region, or pubic hair region of any person, or any portion of the breast at or below the upper edge of the areola thereof on any female person, is exposed to public view or is not covered by an opaque covering.
A. This section shall not apply to children under the age of ten (10) years.
B. This section shall not apply to live theatrical performances performed in a theater, concert hall, or other similar establishment located on public land. (Prior code § 26.01.059)
