  • Winter Nudity

September is here and unfortunately I begin thinking about winter and having to wear clothes to keep warm. The months of Jan-Feb and March are the toughest for me.

My question is how does a cold-natured naturist stay warm without turning up the heating system so high you go broke? I still try to be naked as much as I can tolerate. We seem to be fortunate enough to have a least one or two times a month it gets warm enough to be naked as least for a short time outdoors.

Easy for us Southern Californian's to say but...just take advantage of each warm day that you can.

We are quite spoiled here in So. Cal. It is actually warm most days of winter to be nude either inside or outside without having to turn up the thermostat. There are times when that is necessary but when that happens, the Prof and I usually head for Palm Springs, which is typically 10-15 degrees warmer in the winter, for the day or weekend to warm up and get some sun.

Even if you have to wear something around the house to stay warm, you're still a nudist and you are still nude under your robe or blanket.

In the TV room there are a number of throw blankets. If it gets too cool when nude I just use one of the blankets, better than putting clothes on.

Maybe you should move farther North. Up in Va., we have a enough warm weather to sunbathe through most of the winter. We miss about 35-40 days overall.
At WTR, on the patio around the pool, you see people tanning most days of the week. And the indoor pool is very busy.

In the winter I try to spend a few extra minutes at the gym in the sauna or steam room after my workout - not quality nude time, granted, but you've got to take what's available. I'm also planning to install an outdoor hot tub in the back, you might think about that if your budget will allow. Otherwise, I'll treat myself once a week or two to a quiet naked evening at home - crank up the heat, start a big fire in the fireplace, break out the bourbon, and try to get by with just a lap blanket if necessary. Sometimes it works, sometimes not.

All easier than moving to Florida, and cheaper than spending all winter in Fiji. If less satisfying.

                Winter? It snow problem!

It's only a problem if you are outside - the same can be said about regular "indoors clothing" - just not suitable outside in winter.

Most of us spend our time during the winter indoors, so there "snow problem" being nude in the winter any more than there is during the summer.

I'm perfectly comfortable being nude at normal room temperatures, so there is no need to turn the thermastat up for 'nude use'. If you have a cold floor you might want warm slippers or socks.

We don't have central heating here on our farm , we have an open wood fire. Through the winter I usually strip and lie or sit close to the fire every night to watch TV. Other than that some days here in winter are warm enough for sunbaking on a sheltered part of our verandah or even, on a clear sunny day, a walk - not often though in mid winter.

Other than that the only nude time I have is, of course in bed, and in the morning getting up and going outside on the frosty ground to get the fire wood, stoke up the kitchen stove and then head for a hot shower.

Southern New Mexico's winters are usually mild. In fact, we sometimes have to tun on fans during the winter!

Well I had a bit of a tradition of going to my local nude beach on New Years Day if the sun was out and the temp was above 60 F. Well now that I have moved to the great North West, about 100 miles from Canada, I will have to re-think what I consider cold. lol!

I can see myself cross country skiing out to a hotsprings in winter and having a nude soak. Just have to wait and see if it pans out. I really need to get myself a hot tub for my back yard.

                              I turn up the heat!
It's worth the few extra bucks to be comfortable.
Of course I'm not home all that much and I turn it way down to off set the cost. And it helps to have a smaller house.
