  • waxing for men

Many years ago I decided that I preferred to be hairless from head to foot. I therefore started to shave regularly. However, I did find the process very tedious - and certainly awkward in some places. I therefore approached a number of salons to ask if their staff would consider waxing me, but their reaction was as blunt as if I had propositioned them; clearly as a man I was completey ouside of their sphere of activity - at least from the point of view of hair removal from places other than the back, chest and legs. I then got to know a lady who was a beautician. I did not know her very well, but I decided to pluck up courage and ask her if she would consider waxing me. She readily agreed even though she worked from home rather than in a salon. The results were fantastic, and she did not jib at any area of m body. However, some years later, much to be disappointment she emigrated. Since then I have failed to find a replacement beautician. Can anyone help? (I live in the West Country, but would be prepared to travel some distance.)

I can't help you as far as specifics but have you entertained waxing it yourself? All it takes is a trip to a beauty supply store and a bit of biting the bullet. As far as the unreachables, see if a friend will do it. Maybe an exchange.

I've always said that if I want to prove how brave I am, it won't be in the dentist's chair.
After reading some of the posts on getting rid of hair, it won't be getting waxed, either!

I've been considering going hairless, but at times like my body as is. But then not sure about the body hair, and in my search for more info, I hooked into nudist.org. They currently have a Smooth nudist forum going on. Try this link

          http://www.nudist-resorts.org/talk/f...p?FORUM_ID=106

there's a lot of info and people sharing techniques, possibilities, personal ethics. Hope it has some contacts or solutions for ya.

Unfortunately, farther you are away from city, the harder it is to fond a salon willing to do male waxing. I visit NYC often and moving there in few months, in NYC, there are A LOT of salons that do male waxing. It isn't even hard to find one that has its own version of a male brazilian wax. In fact, there is one in Manhattan, that I can't recall, that is a salon/spa for men only and is VERY popular. Anywho, big cities are your best option. Considering you are in UK, take few visits to London, am sure there are salons that do male waxing

              Hi yfenni,
              I went to http://search.yell.com/
In "I am looking for", typed "male waxing"
In "Located in", typed "South West England"
Got lots of possibilities, probably mostly female only, but including this one:

Unit 4 Hawthorn Court, Bourton Ind Est
              Cheltenham Gloucestershire
              GL54 2HQ

Tel: 01451 822700 ? For health and beauty
              ? Matis beauty care
              ? Creative for nails
              ? PHD for waxing
              ? Facial and body treatments
              ? Men and women

You'll probably find more, if you look.
              Happy hunting, and happy waxing!

Try the Sugar Shop in London W2 - ideal for you as it's about 5 minutes from Paddington station.

Run by men for men they use sugaring to remove body hair and there's absolutely no issue about having your pubic hair removed - they guy who normally sugars me told me about this the first time I had my back waxed and I decided to roll over, swallow my pride and have some - not all -of my hair off - it's wonderfully smooth and working man to man there's absolutely no problem about the erection - if anything it's welcomed as it stretches the skin and makes the hair removal easier. He's been on the table too so knows just how it is for you.

I think its the best thing since sliced bread, ive been getting it done for about 20 years now and the longer you get it done the thinner your hair grows back, i get it done every 6 to 8 weeks now. You just have to find a beautician that will do it, not a easy task although some dont mind doing it.
