  • Here Comes The Judge

I heard about this woman running for judgeship on Neal Boortz June 10th. If this woman gets her judgeship, does anyone think Nevada will get a sympathetic ear for nudists?? Anyone out there know anything about her? Here is the link:

Though one cannot make too grandiose statements based on one newspaper article, from it, it seems to me that Ms. Hampton is a sensible, intelligent person. Though she may not think being a stripper is the ideal job choice for a young woman, she believes it is an understandable one. Though stripping for entertainment is not nudism, I would imagine it does require a certain comfort with nudity, and I think that could be good for any nudism-related judgements she might make in the future.

i would not have notice the artical because nudity and strippings are not on the same planet i have heard of strippers that were imbarassed to go to a nude beach

Although Nudism and Stripping are two different things, Ms Hampton does seem to be much more accepting of others and nudity. I think that is what is important here.

Ms. Hampton has been put on the bench, as of Friday June 10. I heard of this when listening to the news. Although she did strip for a living to help pay for expenses, she was approved for the judgeship.

Personally, I don't think her former job will do us much better, simply due to the fact, she is to interpret the laws on the books, not set policy. The positive thing is, she could be more lenient in her rulings, but again, she is there to interpret the laws.

It is a very interesting article. This is something we should follow up on in the future.

I don't think it's that they're embarrassed, but that they don't want to show for free what they get paid to show.

This one can go either way. She may embrace nudism, but her past may count against her.

I actually think that they see stripping and going to a nude beach as two different things. The stripping they do for show and think thats okay to be nude while doing but they think just going nude to the nudist beach for pleasure is something else. Just seeing the strippers nude really isnt giving people stuff for free that theyd normally pay for because all they get for free is to see the woman's naked body, they dont get the whole show with the dance routine and the poles and the stripping and all of that. If the strippers werent embarassed or didnt think of a strip show and a nudist beach as two different things then they would probably be willing to go nude even if people saw it for free.

I don't think that this judge's previous experiences will make much difference outside her jurisdiction because as we all know....what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas.
