  • Legal photos?

I saw one discussion on this forum regarding one member that had an avatar of herself naked and because she wasn´t of legal age it was taken down. And one of the replys was from one of the moderators stating that it was infact illegal to basically show any naked part of the body of any person underage. But for example Naturist-Christians have lots of photos of families and their children of variuos age and from my understanding this is not at all illegal as long as the photos are not pornographic in any way. One can always argue if it is suitable to show such pics but I can never imagine it being illegal - not even in the USA, the most uptight doublestandard country in the world. Just think of the outrage Janet Jacksons nipple slip caused, and yet you can go to your local gunstore and buy yourself enough weapons to feed an army....

Well, that's Naturist-Christians, and they can run their website any way they see fit. The policy here is that underage nude avatar photos, or gallery photos posted without the verified consent of a parent or legal guardian, aren't permitted.

Yes ofcourse all forums may keep their own rules and standards, but it was stated that it was very illegal, but that are in fact wrong isn´t it?

Nude pictures are not illegal, not even if they are of children.

It has to be pornographic to be illegal. Mere nudity doesn't meet that definition, not even in prudesville USA.

So why would a moderator push so hard on stating that it´s illegal?

No one has - it is simply the policy of this private website to not allow underage, full frontal nude photos unless the parent(s) give consent to do so.

While non-sexual nude photos of underage children are not illegal, they can still sometimes cause legal problems - especially here in the USA, which is where this website is based.

ANYTHING concerning children needs to have parent's permission always. No matter what it is. Whether it's a school trip to the petting zoo to posting a nude picture of a child on a website.

children nude with parents and nude children by themselves are two different things. the family that practices nudism together is fine but when underage kids seperate from their parents then it's wrong.

Keith, I am not sure I understand you. Are you saying that minors should not practice nudism without their parents? Many teens are nudists in a non-nudist household and must have private nudism time. Of course they are severely limited to where and what they can do.

Kids are also nude at the "Youth Leadership Camps for Children" without their parents. See here: http://www.clothesfree.com/youthcamps.html

Its nice to see Arizona stepping forward and hosting such a camp for kids. I wish my child could have atended such a camp when she was young.

Bob, I don't think Keith was talking about the practice of nudity, he was talking about the subject of "Photos", which is the topic of this thread.

Keith has a good point, in the eyes of authorities who jump to conclusions at the drop of a sock, any photo of child nudity is evidence of pedophilia. That is somewhat mitigated by only showing family nudity. Maybe.

It is less about the LAW than it is about the prejudices of those who operate under authority of law. Unfortunately I wouldn't count on limiting photos of minors to those that show family nudity with parents to be enough.

Fredm is correct about having permission from parents or guardians for minors. And until things drastically change here in the US, that is the way it will be. We may not always agree with that posture, especially older teens, but we really have not a choice at present.

I would imagine that family nudity, in the eyes of those same authorities, may be worse. Because as we all know, adults who are naked around children are only doing it for immoral reasons

Fred:"ANYTHING concerning children needs to have parent's permission always."

Not anything. Medical decisions regarding girls' reproductive capabilities can be made by themselves.
