Bob, thanks for the heads-up on HB 132. It looks like this is already a win for us:
    quote:
NAC Area Representative Bob Neinast has participated in extended consultations with HB 132 sponsor Arlene Setzer (R-Vandalia) and others with interest in the bill. NAC has succeeded in modifying the language, so that family naturism is no longer criminalized by the proposed new law.

But who knows what changes or amendments could yet appear. This is one to watch closely.

OK, you think the Virginia bill is bad. Ohio has an even worse bill still pending in the legislature. In an effort to protect children from sexual abuse, a bill (actually two) has been introduced that would criminalize what is known as "grooming" children into accepting that potential sexual abuse is fine. And this bill specifies family nudity as "grooming."

This bill would effectively outlaw any nudity around children, even for parents. That is a very chilling thought and goes against parental rights to raise their children as they want.

I first read about this in "N" magazine (TNS' quarterly) and looked it up on NAC's site, NAC. Just click on the Ohio link on the link side of the page amongst all the other states.

So far, the NAC is working behind the scenes and has already helped in killing one draft of it. Another piece of similar legislation is still alive.
