When enjoying life unclothed, I sometimes notice, how well suited the scrotum is to nudity. On a warm day, one can actually feel the effective cooling of the wind.
Does anyone know, if it has been investigated, how big the effect of nudity is on sperm quality. It should be possible - in naturist surroundings - to analyse the effect of the natural cooling.

tight clothing pulls the testes closer to the body. The body heat in turn kills sperm. That's why they "dangle" a little, they were meant to.

If you must wear underwear pick boxer type shorts as they are loose fitting and let the genitals hang and adjust to the temperature as they naturally do.

Briefs or jockey type confine the penis and scrotal sacks and testicles close to the body sort of rolled up in a ball causing higher temperature, lack of air circulation, and constant contact with soiled material of fabric which could cause increased infections, irritations, and itching.

One should also consider extended use of hot tubs that reduces fertility or sperm quality due to raised level of temperature.

I never had any of the above mentioned problems. But I'd still rather be Nude!

i have read restricted clothing reduces the sperm count. being nude should not interfere with this at all. the testes are in a solution that bathes them to keep the right temp. being nude allows this more freely. thats why they move to adjust to the temperature.

Studies have not been done on nudists. But, like the others said, studies have been done on clothing and restrictive clothing has been proposed to decrease sperm counts. Average male sperm counts have declined over the past half century, type of clothing was a proposal as to why.

One good thing is that as males the effect of restrictive clothing is not permanent.

Also, we must keep in mind direct heat like from the sun, hot tubs, saunas, ect. would have the same effect.

Even if we have a "deficit" however, it is seldom enough to cause infertility. However, if someone is trying to have kids with difficulty, then it doesn't hurt to ensure the most fertile sperm possible.

Higher temperatures does not kill the sperm, it just makes it lazy. low motility and abnormal sperm it a high price for briefs and tight pants.

But most of the time we are not using it. you have to figure over 99% is wasted.

Every sperm is scared every sperm is great, If a sperm gets wasted, God gets quite irate.

                Cheers,

Why would every sperm be scared? Do you mean sacred? Or perhaps you feel that sperm have cognitive ability (Oh no, sperm counts are decreasing -what can we do?).
Why would God get irate? As an all-knowing, one would figure God would know that a lot of sperm would be wasted (by its very nature, under the best of circumstances lot of sperm are created & few actually reach and fertilize an egg) and wouldn't get irate about it. But that's just IMHO.

James you have to see "Monty Python's The meaning of Life". Watch that and you will understand the statement as well as be entertained by the brilliance of the Python's.

Not all sperm is meant for fertilization. Some sperm are defense sperm from a time long past when monogomy was not the rule of the day and a woman could get more than one male ejaculating into her in the same day.

The defense sperm will either block the invading sperm from getting close to the egg by bunching up or some will actively seek out the "alien" sperm and kill them.

And Darwin, do wet dreams result in wasted sperm?

Don't get your knickers in a twist ol' boy, it's just a quote from the lads at Monty Python.

                          Knickers?
Actually, I've never seen that particular Python film -but I always enjoyed the TV show & think that their "Holy Grail" is the funniest film I've ever seen and "Life of Brian" has a lot of good things in it as well. Really couldn't tell you why I never caught that one (film, of course -if I had caught the film I would have caught the line as well).

The testes produce sperm and they cannot produce them at body temp. That is why they are ou the outside. A hanging scrotum is just a way to help cool them. Then need only a degree or less of temp to work correctly.
