Why do guys feel they can pick up women on a Nude Forum

In the past week there have been new posters immediatly hitting on women or asking to meet women specifically. This is a Predominately Male Forum who do they think they are going to respond to them.

From my experience, you do not see many Young Single Females on the forums. At resorts you see many families, or older generation.

I will not welcome or respond to any poster who is using the forums to pick up women. If I resond I do not want them to get the wrong message. These people need to be corrected in their thinking immediatly, this is not a pick up joint and I don't think they are interested in nude lifestyle....just naked women.

This is one big reason why you will never see my picture as my avatar.

As a male I agree with you completely. The Fourm should be a place where we can have open and free debate between male and female. The moderators might consider not allowing this type Post. My personal opinion is if this continues it will weaken the Fourm.KrcNY thank you for expressing your feelings.

I agree completely. Women shouldn't have to deal with it on a forum such as this one.

However from what I have seen online women are treated like this regardless of the nature of the discussion board. The fact that this is a nudist forum is irrelevant. Whether its natural or taught by today's society, men are fascinated by the female gender and will make attempts to hit on them regardless of the location. And with the numbers being so lopsided its only natural for it to stand out so much.

With the line between nudity and sexuality so blurred by society and many people even on this board, its understandable to think that men are coming here to hit on women just because they are nudists. This might be the case for a few misguided creeps, but I don't think the topic of this board is the driving force behind it.

All I can say to my fellow males is this... If a woman on a message board wants this type of attention they will make it clear. Otherwise treat them with respect and stop driving them off.

My personal opinion on this, Being that this is a clothes free forum, Not the nude hook up a date with a chick line. I am sorry but yes it's rude. And over all it's making a very bad impression on the female members. They are here to express and post thoughts as well.

I guess the new new members should be aware of this and respect all.....

Hello all:

I think that in general, single men are always seeking opportunities to meet or make some contact with women.
This forum offers an opportunity, just like other forums, a bar, a grocery store, or any other possible meeting place.
This is perhaps, an age-old event. Women just need to respond approrpriately. Either, they are also single and may be interested in the male or they are not, and therefore can just ignore or discourage the advance.
Of course, there are also (and equally); single women who are looking for single men and single people looking for those of the same sex.

I think the approach is important.
An aggressive or unusual approach could make the other person feel threatened.
This is definately not appropriate.
Perhaps, a better approach for people here, is to establish yourself.
Take part in the debates, advice requests, story lines, etc.
Get yourself known and identified.
This may lead to identifying and getting to know others-perhaps of similar lifestyle, similar likes and dislikes, similar views,etc.
This could then lead to a personal message indicating interest in the other person.

I think it may stem from the old days when women were basically the property of men. Now I know that MOST men no longer operate with that sort of assumption. Many men, the neanderthal type, seem to think that women who go nude, or post in these types of boards, or perhaps even just breathe, can be hit upon by the supposedly superior sex. (Can you tell these type of males do not impress me?? ) I am not sure those guys can be educated!

I made a decision to report certain posts or PM's that I saw. I also added the Happily Married line into my signature block. I have had no problems for a while.

Fortunately, most of the men here are decent and not of the breed I mentioned above!

We need to kick out all of the white straight older males and leave all of the nudist minorities to take up the slack. Gay nudists, teenage-and-20something nudists, and female nudists can all make a beautiful utopia here.

Seriously though. Lopsided gender ratios, do you really need to mention this? It's a nudist board -- nude people, by golly -- and considering the lopsided gender ratios, of course people are going to hit up the women. And the younger nudists. And the gay nudists. Fitting into a some of those categories (guess which ones!), and also having getting harassed by creepy old men, we will simply have to deal with it.

I dunno. Can we do anything without turning this into some police-state of a board?

I was just curious why the very first post is a guy looking to chat with women, and stating what his good qualifications are. This is a forum to learn about naturism in general.

I only mentioned the gender ratios because there is not a big choice of women here on the forums. These guys will get nowhere fast.

I fixed the Title, it was my typo, I meant to say pick up women not pick on women. I don't feel picked on and I am not looking to get picked up either.

As I stated I will not respond at all to those threads nor will I post a picture avatar.

krcNY: What I am trying to say is: It's a fact of life on the internet, and especially moreso on these boards. I agree with you that it's a nuisance, and yeah, most people probably mean well but this sort of problem is going to exist from now until forever. At least the good news is that you can usually tell who the bad guys are -- they're pretty much stating their dating profiles up front.

I don't know anymore. I just worry about how all of these gender tensions relate to nudist boards, resorts, and so on. I don't want to see the situation turn into ridiculous policing and random accusations and an even deeper demographic divide. Simple contacting and talking/PMing on these boards is fine, but I don't want to see all sorts of things get mangled up due to a few fools with poorly-laid out dating plans.

(Also want to mention: I don't use my face or name for my board handle, either, as I am sure you can tell...)

No man should be disrespectful to our women.
Never an excuse for that.
And I thought it was against the TOS anyway.

Shouldn't that be " the women", not "our women"? I know I don't own any (although I do have one who chooses to stay with me(at times I'm not sure why)) And it's not just the women on this board that deserve respect, it's ALL women, unless they prove to be undeserving of said respect.

This really makes the hair on the back of my neck stand straight out. I can imagine how ercNY feels as your husband but surprised that you've lasted this long on this forum with all the junk you seem to be getting in forms of PM's and post replies.

I've stated it before and I'll say it again, if you need our help in anyway, let us know. Those of us that are sympathetic to your concerns are here to help you in anyway.

We need to start exposing some of these pick up artists and toss them once and for all.
