  • Kicked Out for Breastfeeding

Anyone hear about this story on the news yesterday. Toys-R-Us in Times Square kicked a woman out of the store because she was breastfeeding her baby. It is absolutely disgusting that a mother would be treated like that while feeding her baby. There was a poll during the news hour for people to respond to the question "Should large stores be required to have breastfeeding rooms?" I responded NO considering it is not illegal for a woman to breastfeed and they have the right to do it wherever they want. I have heard some people say they should go to the bathroom to feed. Do you eat your food in a bathroom? Didn't think so.

Anyway, you can visit the link below to tell Toys-R-Us that their actions were rude and uncalled for.

Thanks for posting the link to Toys R Us. I'd like to respond to their actions regarding the ousting of a mother breastfeeding her child but I'd like to also read the printed story, do you have that link?

The act of breastfeeding a child is a most natural and necessary function. There is absolutely nothing sexual about that. I have seen women breastfeeding world wide. Some are bare chested, is the norm for that area. In this area, the USA, I have seen women that have clothes fitted so she can do this most discretely and she does. Have never seen a woman make anything more of it than to breastfeed.

For anyone or any organization to take not only offense but punishment action for this is so far beyond reason they need to be fined themselves. Such people and organizations need protection by way of law that allows this with out prejudice.

Now...log onto their site and send them a message about how you feel.

The more e-mails they get from people, the more apt they are to educate their employee's about such matters.

                  (Please nobody take me seriously)
Wouldn't a woman walking in with milk loaded breasts violate the stores No Food or Beverages policies.

This is an issue to textiled folk also. Is just not fair nor is it prudent to do what Toys R Us did.

If more people knew about it maybe the lack of business they would 'enjoy' would be cause for them to have a change of heart.

I couldn't agree more. Contacting Toys R Us on their website (link provided) is the way to get your feelings across. They don't know if your a nudist or not.

As far as they know this is coming from patrons of their store. I told them that when I wrote to them. I never said anything about being a nudist. We all need to speak up and let them know how we feel as customers not just because we're nudists.

I've decided on something even more powerful. I won't be buying any of my grandchildren any presents for Christman at TRU in the future. U can bet that the powers-that-be will notice that a lot more than an e-mail.

They won't notice at all, unless you tell them.

I don't believe we could get enough people to boycott TRU to make a difference. I think more people would send e-mails.
