  • The novel "Blue Nude"

I just finished reading Elizabeth Rosner's novel "Blue Nude."
I first learned of the novel when I read Ms. Rosner's L. A. Times article on her experiences with nude sunbathing "Notes on Nude Beach Season" (It's a topic in Nudes in the News). Ms. Rosner is a bestselling novelist--her first novel was "The Speed of Light". Earlier in her life before she became a professional novelist and a creative writing teacher she did some work as a nude model and she drew on this experience for "Blue NUde."
I wholeheartedly recommend The novel to naturists/nudists interested in reading a novel in which nudity is a central element in the story.
It's a serious novel about the place of both art and beauty in life. It also deals with the horror of the holocaust and the Palestinian/Israeli conflict.
The idea of being nude is the central concept of the novel: the nude model feels both courageous when she steps in front of artists who draw her nude (while they remain clothed) but she also feels vulnerable. In the novel nudity is a symbol for all the situations in life when we feel emotions (Courage, impetuosity, vulnerability, etc.) associated with being nude.
    Peace,
    Kevin
