  • Nudity and sexual activity

Most nudists aren't bugged about (scenario #1) seeing a man with an erection at a nudist location as long as it is not manually induced and not flaunted.

However, almost all would be unhappy about (scenario #2) seeing someone masturbating or having sexual intercourse in public.

Consider the following scenario #3. A couple are nude on a clothing-optional beach. She is lying on her stomach, and he is kneeling beside her, massaging her shoulders and back. As he is doing so, he gets an erection, but continues with the massage. Although his erection is visible to others, it's clear that he is not putting on a show.

Back massage is not, in and of itself, sexual activity. But, given the man's erection, it has become sexual for him.

On a scale of 1 to 5, where 1 = not sexual and OK and 5 = highly sexual and definitely not OK, how do you rate the above situation?

    Two versions of this scenario:
#3A where there are no kids present.
#3B where there are some kids present, ranging in ages from 5 to 12.

I think you worded that very well Gary. I've seen this exact scenario happen at a beach and it didn't bother me at all and I don't think it would be offensive to children either.

Thanks, Cyndiann. Re kids, it'll be interesting to see if the other respondents agree with you and me.

I voted prior to reading your last two responses so I was not swayed one way or the other! ha ha!

This has happened to me on the beach, just applying sunscreen on my wife's back side. I think you can be discreet enough that even though you do get an erection at those times you can continue what you are doing and not draw attention to yourself or the erection.

My wife just smiles or laughs and says to me..."hey buddy, there are rules you know".

Regarding children; there are always children around us at the beach. We have a group that meets at the beach several times throughout the summer and one couple brings their children. They've seen erections from those in the group and others on the beach. It seems to bother the parents more than the kids.

I still feel that if you do get an erection you should be discreet about it and not parade, flount, (whatever verb we're using) that erection. We've given many that have asked here ways to handle an erection so as long as those that do get one follow those simple rules of etiquette we don't have a problem with them. I bet I know which one voted "Highly sexual and not OK". I see no reason why it should change just because there are kids present. My daughters saw me with and without an erection and never questioned it. I voted "mildly sexual but OK" on both. He's naked and she's naked. He's leaning over her and massaging her back and has an erection. I know that in his place, and a few years younger, I would have gotten aroused in that situation. Of course, we all know that not all erections are sexually caused.

Very interesting results so far. Out of 30 people, only 2 (7%) think that it's NOT OK for the guy to continue his massage activity while nude, erect and in view of other adults AND only 3 (10%) think that it's not OK when kids are present.

93% (90% if kids are present) are accepting of an erection even in a situation hat has a sexual connotation.

While this is a pretty small sample even of the nudist population, I'm encouraged by these results.
