Negative Energy in Posts

I haven't corresponded with many people in these Forums and I'm not trying to stir up controversy, so please don't be offended. The fact is, I have read what I think most would consider an over-abundance of petty comments, personal attacks, and rude responses to others' questions in these threads.

I guess that's fine if that's the way people want it, but assuming most of us as naturists truly desire a certain amount of respect and understanding, does it make sense to resort to childish bickering in a public naturist forum accessible to anyone that stumbles upon the site?

I post a lot here, because I value the opinions of other nudists on topics that are relevant to nudists. Through the discussions in the forums, I get a better understanding of nudism in general and of myself as a nudist.

Some people don't read posts thoroughly and, as a result, misinterpret what the author was saying. Some people are too quick to pass judgement on others. Some people are just plain rude in how they express themselves.

Sometimes one person qualifies in all three categories. Here are some quotes from a recent post:
"Are you like stoned or something?"
"Many non-nudists will find everything you say to be STUPID OR DISGUSTING".
"You are a selfish and self absorbed person".

There is no way of having a useful dicussion with someone who expresses him/herself in this manner.

I read your post thoroughly and my responses to your post was because the whole idea was STUPID and DISGUSTING. You don't seem to think before you actually do something which was my point in your post about bodily functions

TJNaturist makes a very good point. Frankly it's something Corky and I are growing extremely concerned about.
It's very easy to be negative and critical. It doesn't take much thought at all. However, it's much tougher to write well reasoned thoughtful
responces on these posts. We think that's the main reason why there's so much negativity. People are lazy!
The problem is that this angry, negative dialogue drives people away. If you'd like, I can name a few..folks that have left these boards as a result. But my post would be too long!Once again..mellow out people!!

bart - thanks for responding to this post as i think it is critical to the future of this site that people act respectfully. we should not allow a few to ruin it for the rest of us and for any newcomers looking for answers. it is important that the administrators make statements like yours so that people understand the type of site that this is.

I'm aware of another well-run board that has a miscellaneous topic called "B-i-t-c-h Board." Users who want to whine, complain, or be angry are directed to post there.

The administrators might want to consider creating some similar topic to which attacking posts could be transferred. That leaves them available for the few people that may care to read them while sending a message about the expected standards of respect for those who are posting.

luvnaturism: Thanks for the suggestion. We'll consider it. I think it's unfortunate that we need something like that, but there's a few folks on this forum that really enjoy attacking others.
It's ruining this board, but I guess they like it
that way. I've been the object of some of their
viciousness. Frankly it doesn't bother me, just
makes me sad for them.

Bartamus and Florida David, I fully agree with your assessments of the current situation. I do hope it can be resolved without more harm being done to individuals within the forum. I renewed my membership this past week because I believe so strongly in INA, the staff, and its membership.
