• Nudist etiquette at home

Proper nudist etiquette at a resort says that a nudist should carry a towel to sit on, obviously for sanitary reasons.

Does anyone usually sit on towels at home?

As a general rule, I do use a towel at home to protect the furniture from possible soiling. Besides, the fabric on the couch scratches, a towel feels much better.

Yes, towels come in real handy when your lawn chairs sit out in the sun Without it you get a case of Hot Criss-Crossed Buns

My living room furniture, though expensive, is a little rough to sit on nude, so, yes, I do sit on a towel at home.

I use an entire bedsheet over my recliner in the back room, for purposes of cleanliness and to escape feeling the recliner's scratchy fabric on my body.

yes i put down a towel unless i have just gotten out of the shower. i think its a little overkill, but it protects the furniture. i try to teach my kids to use towels since they are usually dirtier than me, but it usually does not work. our main couch has a slip cover, so it is easy to wash. and wood furniture wipes off easy. i think that some of the non-nudist parents of the young nudists probably worry about this as much as seeing their child naked. maybe the young nudists should suggest using towels where they sit so that their folks are not so alarmed about their naked bodies dirty-ing up the couch. i think that sweaty clothed kids can easily stink up a fabric couch quicker than a clean naked kid - just my personal opinion...

When i'm nude at home i dont use a towel... i dont see the point in having to lay down a towel everywhere i sit when i'm relaxing at home. Plus my furniture feels good on my skin

Thanks for the replies. I got a larger response than I expected.

I usually don't use a towel at home, since I am the only nudist of the four of us. I will use a towel if I have been sweating outdoors, though.

I sit on a towel in my wheelchair because the seat cover is not easy to take off and on

                      Nude in Wheelchair,

It is good to see you posting. It's been a while.

I believe that home should be a place where you can relax the towel rules a little bit. I call the shots here, so I use a towel on my leather chair (it tends to stick to skin) and a towel with my scratchy couch and I use no towel on my soft fabric couch. I won't sit nude on the soft couch unless I am fresh, clean and dry. In the kitchen we have washable padded seats that tie on to the chairs. It's okay to sit on them without a towel.

Mom wouldn't let me sit on the couch when I was a sweaty kid. Clothes had nothing to do with it. I had to take a shower first.
