  • censoring self?

Whail reading some of the posts i've noticed that people here occasionally censor out the word penis or vagina. Whats the purpose in doing this? After all we are all showing them freely. They are just another body part. I thought the whole concept of nudisim was to be comfortable with it all? please explain. Part of being comfortable means using normal everyday (but respectful) speech. For some people saying penis or vagina is artificially clinical, for others of us it is normal. Doesn't really matter.

just kidding, we should all be used to saying it, wether its clinical or not. just don't yell them out in a crowded movie theatre...

Sometimes we will use a term that fits our mood. Others may be newbies and are nervous about the whole thing. I have no qualms about using the two terms, but I do feel that I don't get much of a chance to actually use the term vagina. There, I used it.

OK I'm not going to use the c word here for vagina but one of the funniest, most telling and liberating things I've heard in years is the piece(uh!) the part of "The Vagina Monologues" where the performer starts in hesitantly to call her mons by that term and then gets into it and can't seem to stop saying it and then yelling it over and over again untill it's just a WORD. There is no differance between any part of our bodies that we don't place on it ourselves. I've never understood why names for some of the most vital and beautiful parts of our bodies are curse words. Not to mention why the commonest term for the most beautiful of all human sharing is the worst word of all.
