  • Life Changing Accident

Well my wife and I experienced something we never wish to experience again. We were in a head on collision with a drunk driver on Oct 2nd. I just got out of the hospital after two weeks in ICU and a week in a regular room. Several surgeries to put me back together and Im typing with one hand. My scares will probably followme for a long while and some forever.
I would just like to say that as we recover it is great to know that people in the nudist community will not judge our apperances. I did loose weight though real fast but have a hell of a scare

I too posess scars from an accident many years ago.I'm glad to be alive, nude and free. Scars as with other body aspects are merely superficial. You may find some who ask how but I've never received a negative reaction from my fellow nudists. Thankfully you are alive to ponder the issue. Consider the alternative.
      Be well.
Wish you a full recovery, brother :-)

People will look past the external scars and try to help you with the internal ones. Good luck in your recovery. You know all of us here will be cheering you back to health.

This story is proof enough for everyone out there:

          DON'T DRINK AND DRIVE!!!!!!

I hate drunk drivers. Me and my mom got hit by a drunk on jan3rd 2000. My mom died from it. I say if you get caught driving drunk they take your car (or what ever you drive) and sell it

Cheffred, I don't know what to say -- just that it's wonderful how the body heals. It may take some time but you will get there - every day better than the previous.

I was in an accident in 1998 with my then-girlfriend. We were broadsided; the car spun twice and landed at an angle in a ditch. She ended up with a broken thumb, some brusing from the airbag, and I had partial hearing in my right ear for about a week due to the passenger side airbag. While it was eventually determined by the police to be her fault, the car was totalled.

Glad to hear you made it out okay. It could have been a LOT worse. I remember what really scared the **** out of me was thinking the car was going to catch fire because I smelled something like gunpowder. What I smelled were the chemicals that caused the airbag to expand and inflate. Her concern was that she may have killed someone in the other vehicle. Fortunately, they like us survived with only minor injuries.

I hate things like that. I don't remember the actual accident itself, but I remember how scared I was trying to get us both out of the vehicle, and how everyone in the other car was. Count yourself lucky and pray it doesn't happen again. According to a defensive driving class I took this weekend, the chance comes up about once every ten years...so at least you can rest easy until 2015!

That wouldn't help; they would just get another car. Taking away someone's driver's license would only cause them to drive without one. Personally, I think a few months of jail time might cause them to think twice about driving drunk, but as I said, it MIGHT.

I'm not sure jail is the answer either, but it's definately a starting point. What we are trying at the moment isn't working.

NO MORE ALCHOHOL!!! Not... they've already tried that.
I am sorry for your injuries Cheffred and I am sorry for your loss Paniga.
My dad was hit by a tractor-trailer (eighteen wheeler) and was killed. We don't know what exactly happened, but it might be that the driver was drunk.
