When at a non-nude beach, I'll wear running shorts without the liner. It feels just about as close to being nude when not.

I do the same as nudeM. Shorts without the liner if I really have to go to a textile beach, but we rarely if ever go to a textile beach anymore.

Previously I've mostly worn a Speedo, though I did buy a nice swimsuit in a Hawaiian print that comes about 2 inches above my knee--not real long, but not short either.

This year I tried a Tan-Thru suit in a boxer brief cut, and I'm really happy with it. It doesn't trap air (I hate air bubbles in my swimsuit) any more than a Speedo, and it's a cut that I'm very comfortable with.

It also dries very fast. If I roll it up tight in a towel and then hang it up it will be dry in just a few minutes.

One thing though: it does fine in the water, but I have to be careful out of the water. If I sit wrong, it's possible to pop out of it at unexpected moments.

My answer was "outher/please specify with a reply."

When I go to the beach, I normally wear a hat or ball cap along with my regular clothes. One reason is that it's too easy for me to get sunburned.

I've not yet checked out a nude or clothing optional beach, but plan to. When I do, I will conform and probably wear sunscreen.

I don't go to non-nude beaches. I won't go any place where I have to wear anything. I don't even own a swimsuit.

What? No, All of the above?

For me it depends on what beach I'm at, and Who I'm with.
I wouldn't wear a thong at any of the local lakes around here. Mostly because I know from experience that I'd be thrown in jail. (Not that this has ever happened to me, but I know how people around here react to MALE skin.)

When on vacation in Mexico or Florida I wear shorts in some areas and String Thongs in other areas. Again it depends on what part of the beach I'm on and what appears to be accepted. I often push it one step further. For example if everyone is wearing "Board Shorts", I'll wear a speedo. If they are wearing speedos, I just might wear a thong.

I would have to agree with this. It all depends on the location.

At some beaches I will wear a Speedo or maybe a full boxer size swimsuit. If it isn't going to cause a problem, I will wear a thong or g-string. I will wear the smallest swimsuit that I think is OK.

I marked other. For me, like some have already mentioned, the best way to go is to get a pair of running shorts and cut the liner out. That is the most comfortable and when I am sitting facing a safe direction I can get some sun on my Johnson. Just don't forget the sunscreen!

I'm with Jon-Marc. I try to avoid textile beaches if I can. But if I can't, then I wear some boardies.

When I'm not at a nude beach I'll wear a speedo. I swim for fitness 5 times a week year 'round & it's the only kind of swimsuit I have! If I can't swim nude I want to swim wearing as little as possible.

When I go to a non nude beach I wear short boxer style trunks that I removed the liner from. Then when I go in the water I take them off. If people are not too close they cannot tell that you are nude in the water.

I just can't stand wearing anything in the water, have to be nude!

Believe it or not, but I have not gone to the beach in a long time (apart from with the YMCA). Being in a beach town, it just doesn't appeal to me anymore. Maybe I will try a nude beach sometime.

But seriously, many locals tend to avoid the oceanfront during the tourist season. Way too crowded!

Anyway, I prefer the swimming trunks if I have to wear something to swim. I hate anything tight around my hips amd thighs. That is why I stopped wearing underwar and there is no way I will ever wear a speedo. Too constricting.
