  • Bring Back Pubic Hair!

Something that I have recently come to understand is that a dense bush is actually a sign of good health. Diabetes often causes a loss of body hair due to decreased blood circulation. Aside from that, a shaved male brings to mind a rubber chicken. I can appreciate that some may feel the need to tidy up by trimming and grooming, and perhaps that is a good compromise compared to shaving it all off.

As one who does not like shaving my face nor a beard either, I can't imagine shaving my whole body or any part of it beyond my face. It becomes necessary for me to shave because I use a CPAP at night and manage the activity every four to five days. My wife one time decided I needed to have my pubic area trimmed. It was a horrible time until it grew out enough to be comfortable again. My motto is that if we are going to be naturists, we should just let nature be, within a comfortable reason anyway.

To each his or her own. I've gone back and forth over the years and understand the appeal to each. But for the most part, I've concluded that a modest amount of trimming and upkeep is best for me. After all, we (most of us, anyway) don't let the hair on our heads grow unchecked.

        Same.

My wife went through several stages. Untouched at first. Then she decided to shave because she felt it was "more nudist." After that she felt that shaving was "too much effort" and went for a close trim. Now she feels it's simply more practical and efficient to just lightly trim. I'm the same.

Although it is true that most nudists now are shaven or heavily trimmed; it doesn't mean you have to follow suit. Do your own thing.

To me a razor blade is never going near my scrotum. I do trim, as I have since high school. All boys and girls had to trim due to the high cut suits during swim races..
My wife, on the other hand, had her pubic area shaved during her several trips to the OR. The last time, it never grew back. I tease her and tell her she is in style with the modern woman.

This thread is not the first place I've seen the idea expressed that shaving is "more nudist". I've often thought that the most nudist thing would be to avoid any body modification - grooming but no shaving, no tattoos, and no piercings. I am still mildly resentful that my foreskin was taken from me without my consultation as a consequence of my just being born.

A concept that existed in the early days of nudism was that health and exercise were part of it. These days, the trend is for nudists to get way too much sun while smoking cigarettes and drinking beer.

If the concept of recreational nudism is to enjoy what you like, but to do it without wearing clothes (where ever possible) then all of those options would seem to be possible. A good caution to keep in mind is not to define nudism so narrowly that people--particularly new people--feel left out, or that they do not fit in.

I think that concept was born from the idea that a lack of pubic hair does "feel more naked." Particularly for women I think: pubic hair does provide a "coverage" of the labia; so removing it does increase the sensation of nudity. Even though my wife has abandoned the practice, she did mention she felt "more naked" shaven.

That's always been my approach to nudism. At the resort you're more likely to see me swimming in the pool or the lake, paddle-boarding or hiking.
But that's a choice I make. I'm ok with other people choosing to just relax and tan.

i feel like, from my unscientific observation of nude people at gunnison beach, that pubic hair has been "making a comeback" over the last few years. since that's where i spend 99% of my outdoor nude time, it's the only data i have, but i think i've noticed more hair among the under 30 crowd lately.

i guess i'll have to wait till next summer to gather more data

The concept of shaving the pubic area publicly started when Linda Lovelace shaved in the movie Deep Throat in the early70's. It took a while, but evolved to widespread acceptance. I shaved for many years till I got waxed while in Mexico. I now get waxed every couple of months. A lot of the hair hasn't grown back. No, it's not very painful at all. The first time is the worst. And yes, you might get hard. I do most every time. I asked my waxer about erections, and she said it happens frequently, no problem. It's what you do with it that might concern some. She said she has two clients who ejaculate when she barely touches them. She lets them clean up, then continues. She isn't concerned about their intentions, it's just a physical reaction to her touch. She knows I'm a nudist, we've talked about it. It's also obvious, my penis is the darkest tanned spot on me. She only takes on men, because they have the best conversations, always shower just before they come(no pun intended) and tip well.

i was told that guys shave to make their penis look longer. Nope, it doesn't work. My wife likes it smooth, and that's good enough for me. I get waxed every 6 to 8 weeks, now, and it keeps things pretty clean.

I also had to experience this. At first unaffected. I got a trimmer here and then I opted to shave because she thought it was "more nudist." It's true that most modern nudists are extensively trimmed or shaved, but that doesn't mean you have to copy them. Follow your own path.

Perfectly accurate phrase. For me, how dare I classify myself as a cultured person, of course I keep an eye on the hairline. What is given by nature and the creator, it means it's not just like that. And of course everyone is obliged to monitor this. But, to bring it to insanity, I think it is inappropriate. As by the way, both in that and in the opposite direction.

I shaved my pubic hair one time, and it was red a long time. Now I don't.

Shaving is horrible. I'm a trimmer but if I do decide to depilatate then I Veet the meat (Depilatory cream for sensitive skin, for me it's better than Nair)
