The fact that the mermaid had no nipples reminded me of what I believe came from Mort Walker who drew Beetle Baily. He would draw Miss Buxley with a navel and the censors would make him take it out, so he'd cut the belly button out and put it in his desk drawer. I don't think that mermaids need bras and nipples and belly buttons would be ok. Mermen would have them too and there likely would be no censor objecting to them.Comment
