My last dermatologist visit was a year ago. The assistant told me I can leave my underwear on I told her I do not own any underwear. So she told me to put the paper towel over my lap I just laid it aside me. The doctor came in with her assistant and grabbed the paper towel and placed it over my lap. She looked at my back as I was sitting and looked at my chest that was it. You can get dressed now. So I searched for a new dermatologist and found one. I dropped off paperwork to the office and talked to the receptionist and told her that I want a full body skin check including my penis and testicles. I told her about my last dermatologist visit and she agreed that I am making a better choice. She told me that Dr. Nicole will examine everything. I told her that my belly is in the way to see my penis. My wife's eyesight is failing. So the 28th of December I will see Dr. Nicole.

i go to the dermatologist once a year. last year when i went, the nurse, after taking my blood pressure, etc, handed me a gown and told me to take everything off except my underwear. since i wasn't wearing UW, i took everything off and put on the gown. when the dermatologist came in (an APN not a doctor) i told her in at the start that i didn't wear UW so i had nothing on under the gown. she said that didn't matter to her and proceeded to give me a complete body exam. i saw her again this last week and again she did a complete, thorough exam and again i was not wearing any UW. neither of us had any problems with that. i agree a complete body exam is necessary and i appreciate the ease with which she does her job examining me. -
My exam went great with my new dermatologist she was thorough from head to toes. Front and back every inch of me. The nurse was very helpful also. She took pictures of my front side and back side as I requested. So that at next visit they can compare if new spots have shown up. I feel so much relaxed knowing my skin is fine and that doctor and nurse are fine with nudity.

Leaving underwear on for any doctor visit seems to be the new normal unfortunately. Both full annual doctor checkup and skin check. The incoming nurse always says remove all but underwear now. In fact last year she said just remove your shirt. That was ignored of course but it did leave my bikini underwear on. Dermo doc wasn’t the least upset or surprised. And she still gave me a quick check down the back side. I think too many patients acted improperly and the medical community is overreacting to the situation.Comment

It's a CYA situation to prevent accusations of inappropriate behavior by individual. Also, the reason for having a third party in attendance. Much cheaper than lawsuits or criminal defense. I've discussed this with several of the female practitioners who not only have seen the forbidden parts but have had to touch them as well. Our biggest laugh has been about the requirement that they step out of the room while I undress, or dress then have to come back in to shave my pubic area for the procedure that we are prepping for.Originally posted by youngatheart View PostComment
