  • Covering up and staying Nude?

Seems abit of a contradiction in terms, but what do you do if you are enjoying yourself naked, but need to go somwhere or do something where you dont want to be seen naked. BUT you want to keep the feeling of being naked, or want to gt back to being naked quckily (so dont want to dress properly).

This is an issue that has raised itself with me lately. I was spending some nude time at home alone recently, and found I needed to go outside to do something. Now this was broad daylight and in full veiw of the neighbourhood. I could have just dashed out and hoped for the best but I didnt really want to give anyone around a free nude show! I didnt want to get dressed just for a few minutes, and looked for something to cover up with but found everything I has was a little too short for comfort. I ended up putting a coat (it was raining) and a pair of shorts on. I was 'decent' but still 'virtualy' naked. Still, I didnt actaly feel like I was naked, since I'd worn shorts with no underwear plently of times. Now if I only had something nice and long to slip on and hide my 'bits' but still had that free, nude feeling, then I would be happy.

Later I had a hunt through the wardrobe and found a huge tent like sweartshirt Id forgotten I had. I tried this on and it was comfortably long enough to hide things , but was short enoght and loose enough to still feel nude when wearing it. It had the aded advantage of being quite warm so again I can feel nude without gettng too cold, which can be an unwanted side efect of going nude in the UK. I also felt more comfortabe eating a meal wearing it than nothing at all.

So what do you do in such situations as I have described? Can you still be technicaly be a 'nudist' when wearing something on the top half for a bit more warmth/comfort?

I have the perfect grment for that nude underneath feeling, it allows all my dangly bits the freedom they deserve, its an Arabian style one piece, full length thing, I got it when I was on vacation in Spain.
I use my garment when I'm visiting nudist clubs and the night air gets a little too cool to remain naked after an evening of socialising in the club house, I also use it when visiting my parents, they don't share my enthusiasm for nudism I'm afraid!!

As for wearing something on the top half only, I'm think it looks too much like you just want people to see your danglies (An exhibisionist.), so its naked or NOT for me, no half measures.

I usually find that a nice pair of trousers does the trick. Matched with a nice shirt. And some underpants. And socks. And shoes. And perhaps a sweater, too, if it's not very warm.

Then I have the exhillaration of knowing that, beneath these few items of clothing, I'm totally naked.

Coming from a cold area, the sweatshirt is a good start as long as you keep covered in the public eye. Another thought is a long terry robe or possibly a kilt when you need to dash outside. For longer periods outside in cool weather, loose fitting sweatshirt and sweatpants or the kilt. For warmer weather, loose fitting shorts that are extremely lite weight. Find a seamstress that can make you a pair and you can choose the material, and you can hzave them made to be velcroed, which makes it easier to get them on and off with shoes on.

Inside, a big comfy blanket works for me if I don't want to turn the heat up. The main thing is whatever you're most comfortable with.

Had thought of a long 'trenchcoat' style over coat. Would hide everything and noone would know. Trouble is it would make me look like a 'dirty old man' (im not old), so perhps not a good idea.

I have a bathrobe, used to wear it in the mornings after a shower. Until i became less concerned about covering up aftrwards that is! That is an option but if I was seen wearing ir, people might think i was a lazy so and so who has just got up! or that i couldnt be bothered to dress.

Dont fancy a kilt - im not scottish, and anything resembling a skirt would be just too plain weird.

No, maybe the best option is notmal shorts or trousers without underwear. Feels nice and comfy, and would be easy to get naked when desired.

            Thanks for replies

I have seen those kilts in real life. They are very nice and very flattering. I would imagine they are very comfortable.

Naturists get used to having a towel handy to sit on so why not have a big enough one to wrap around you if you are only going to front of house or into view for a few minutes.

Andy, why would you care what people might think about you? Put on what ever you feel most comfortable in, and if you recieve any odd looks tell them that you could have come out nude, who knows you might get a positive response.
If you are just looking for warmth and comfort, sweats are allways a good call. During the summer month I have PJ shorts, all the comfort of pajama bottoms but cooler. They sell the shorts, and the PJ bottoms, without the tops here in the states, I do not know about there.

Nothing's better than a nice sundress.

You used to be able to get PJ bottoms over here, so I assume you still can.

As for wearing a kilt, if you are comfortable enough to be naked in a social setting, a kilt should be no problem. This is one of the problems we face, living up to the expectations of society, to hell with that, just get out there and be yourself.

I may even wear my kilt to work when I get it, our offices don't have aircon so a kilt would be a natural alternative to keep the 'family jewels' nice and cool!!!!

In the traditional way, without underwear?

Kilts are very expensive, aren't they? Have you seen the "utilikilts" site I linked above? Even they are a bit pricey to wear for work.

At my school, summer dresses were the norm for all girls from May through to July, and I can confirm they are far cooler and more comfortable even than a shorts/t-shirt combination. The idea that there isn't some sort of masculine equivalent for males is both irrational and unfair - especially in this age in which women have embraced trousers. Aside from the comfort issue, I heard a consultant urologist on the radio saying that loose clothing around the groin is far healthier for males as coolness and air-circulation around the groin increases sperm count and it is suspected that it could reduce the instances of testicular cancer and some prostate problems. I like the look of utilikilts - they do look very masculine while providing the benefits of sartorial air-conditioning to one's nether regions.

Its known as going regimental, and yes I would, its the only way, and the next best thing to walking down Main Street naked.
