Liam, you forgot two little words: "I think".

I totally disagree with your statement, and I might not be the only one

Hmmmm. I will not agree to say "I think". However, I will say "In my most humble opinion".

We all have opinions, so I'll go with Pantsfree on this one. I think it looks good on others whether they use it for comfort or modesty reasons.

Interesting topic. I have often wondered, why some naturists say, that one should be either totally nude or properly dressed.
I have experimented a lot with dressing, to meet the same demands as Andy.
I have some workman's shirts, that are long enough to almost cover my nakedness (unless the lower buttons are lost). For several years I have worn such a shirt and nothing else, when at home. I have several times had visitors, who didn't notice my nakedness. Others, though have noticed, but accepted my nakedness, since I have at least made an attempt to hide it.

To me, it expands the season of outdoor nakedness from may-august to march-october.

On a hot summers day, when I'm totally nude, I have experienced that visitors accept, that putting on the shirt is coverage enough to satisfy their need for some modesty.

I still haven't found out, what to wear at the office and yet keep that lovely feeling of nakedness.

I'd agree now a long top and no bottoms does look and feel a bit odd on a man.

    Thanks

Andy, a long top and no bottoms looks bad on either sex! It seems to me that you have the right idea. You live in a colder environment than I do. As much as I love the U.K. it is often very cold! I am a certified Anglophyle, but there are some cultural things that can hinder a nudist. Unless you are an urban punk or skinhead a tank top really won't work. Personally, I have never had the courage or rebeliousness to even wear a t-shirt there! I tend to be a little overdressed in the U.K. In Ireland I tend to be taken for a Brit because of my dress. Sad, eh?

I think your choices are excellent ones. Just the right thing for you. Just be nude under them!

No, I can see that a ball cap wouldn't work. I got my cap (kind of like a short, soft and wildly decorated fez) at a local street fair where I found a Nigerian booth featuring all kinds of crafts from Nigeria. No banks available though! I really wish I had bought the shirt, but I didn't have much money at that time and I wasn't sure I would weard it.

But it looks so light and airy! At home I would just use my UCLA football shorts that go on in a second or two.

Sometimes we just gotta cover, even if it's just a few seconds. I don't wanna have to wear some long shirt or robe if I don't have to. I'll just slip on my flimsy shorts and sometimes wear a t-shirt, sometimes not.

However, if you have to go to the store and still want to feel nude, a kaftan can't be beat.

My Kaftan is wel used, I wear it when visiting my parents, its the next best thing to being nude, I also use it when visiting nudist clubs, its ideal for when the sun has gone down and it starts to get a bit chilly.

For my birthday recently I was given an Indian (Asian) version of the Kaftan, which is a little more colourful, and slighlty diferent in style, but just as good for that almost naked feeling.

These garments are also very useful when on vacation at a nudist resort where you sometimes have to wear something, like at the mall, or in a bar. I can walk down the street naked, slip my Kaftan on over my head to shop, then remove it for the return walk to my apartment.

A wonderful piece of kit, I would highly recommend it.

You got one in Spain eh? I've been going to all the wrong places! An Indian kaftan! I've never seen one that I can recall. Colorful I like. I have a friend who goes to India fairly often. I'll have to ask him about it. Thanks!

It is way too inconvenient to have to put on something when going to the bathroom in the middle of the night.

Yes they are very confortable, and I have even worn them to the store but the major problem with them is there is no place for the wallet or car keys.

As for throwing on something to go out to get the mail I have several pairs of very lightweight shorts that my wife made for me that I use. They are much quicker and easier to get on and off. But I don't use anything when going out in the dark in the morning to get the paper.

For those early morning trips to the paper and door answering I have several pairs of Russell althletic field shorts with elastic waists that are very easy to pull on, even over shoes. Mine all have UCLA printed on them!

    Cheers!
