  • Would you like for topics without a response in a while to close?

I have found it annoying when a topic is dormant for months and then suddenly there is a response to a post that is months or years old. I would like it if a topic would close if there is no activity on it.

I was wondering if any one shares my view and if so, perhaps we can suggest a policy for the moderators.

I find it annoying when the same old questions are rehashed in brand new topics rather than continuing in the same threads.

We don't need a brand new erection topic every 30 days, we can just continue one of the 150 erection topics already there.

Now excuse me while I go shave my ankles (Why no ankle shaving topics?).

Maybe some of us just take our time, to give a really well thought out reply.

I voted for a year due to the increasing new membership we get. Most of the postings come from new members who go back into the archives and bring the older topics 'back to life', which some of us respond to.

          Just a thought.

I agree I have had my fill of erection and shaving topics I never understand why people even bring thes topics up. The erection question: If you go nude socially odds are you will not get an erection so to me the ones asking are ones who are not nudist. I am not saying that people who are just nude alone are not nudist, But if they are alone while nude who would mind if they had an erection anyway? As for shaving I just feel it is a preference. If you wanna shave-Shave if not-Dont. But My whole point Is that these questions get old. Sorry for my rambling. Just getting it out there.

I would say after 2 years (or maybe 18 months) so that annual topics, eg. WNBR, are not lost. A 1-year limit is too short because an annual event might happen just over a year after. I say go with 2 years.

                Never -

There are new people all the time joining.

Do libraries take down books that haven’t been checked out lately?

It’s like a Radio or TV they all have a channel switch and a off on switch. If you don’t like something leave the area, or turn it off or change channels.

Cross posting in multiple forums or duplicate posting in the same forum is against the TOS.

                  I voted Never....
when we first joined CFF (INA), we had many questions and used the Search to look for threads about our questions (instead of starting new ones). If we found someone or something we could relate to, we posted on in, the thread got goig again and we met some wonderful people. Some of the people are good friends that we do visit with.

I voted never. As a new member I have found some of the older posts to be very informative. I have not replied to them as I was not sure if it was appropriate to do so. After reading the responses here from the moderators, in the future I will reply regardless of the last post date. I would hope that other new members would also take the time to read some of the old posts because it would help them to better understand what this site is all about.

Then there should be a way to refresh the topic. It just seems wierd when responses come so late.

Perhaps, the forums moderators could send e-mails to topic starters and see if they want a topic closed. Would that be a better option?

I voted never because I thought one year was too short. I personally find it interesting when an old thread comes back, especially the ones that are not common. It's interesting to ponder why the person who started the thread stop posting and whether they addressed their concerns. For instance, in the "How to get nude in front of my kids?" thread, what happened? How did she and the rest of the family make out? I hate cliffhangers!!!

                          Why is it annoying ?

There is a constant turnover of active members on this forum, the site is incredibly interesting but after a while the same questions come up again and then again. People get bored and move on.

Closing topics is negative, it stops people posting when they may want to post. Nothing should be done to discourage people from posting. There are probably hundreds of very interesting topics hidden away somewhere and it is good that newer members troll the old topics learn more and post to them if they want to.

Well, instead of closing threads, what if we combined all the "erection" threads into one then and posted the sign below on it so we could all sleep easier at night?!
