here's an interesting idea for a topic - what kind of modifications to your home have you done to create a nudist friendly environment? i have heard on this forum about constructing garage buildings to create a nudist courtyard between the garage and the house, i have heard of fences being built for privacy, i have heard about towels placed near every exterior door (oh, sorry, that is at my house), etc. i am currrently working on a south facing side yard with hedging for privacy and a shower under a trellis with a sunning area where i like to eat lunch. let's hear what everyone else has been building at home

Still working that one out as I type. I'm in the process of designing my private shaded porch on the side of my house right now. I guess I gotta break out and talk to my neighbors, 'cause thier input and opinions might be a determining factor in my design. After all, if they don't have a problem with nudity, then I've got a lot less work ahead of me. I'll have to fill ya'll in later on this topic.

I guess Florida must have been talking to ercNY.
All rennovatons on our home are waiting for his new attached garage and larger privacy space in the yard, that the garage will create. We will have a nice large courtyard when we are done. No getting caught by the neighbors, they will have to ring the bell on the breezeway to get to the back yard and not just walk on in.
He will also be able to get to his garage without having to get dressed. (to get some more work done and auto repairs) Let the party get started.

The only renovation done to our property to make it nude friendly was the construction of 6 ft block walls.
The preparation for nudist living was done long before the house was built. This was a new tract. We found the model we wanted and made sure that there were no two story homes on either side that could see into our back yard. Then we camped out of a couple of days to make sure we could get this particular house. It's been nude living ever since, over a dozen years.

Hi everyone,
I have built 8' privacy fences on either side of my house facing the road. The other three sides of my back yard are bordered by woods. Although the side toward the closest neighbors gets a bit thin during the winter, I have heard no complaints from them.
I also built a 15'x30' sunroom with a 5 person hot tub in it. I added a 10'x12' deck on the back of the sunroom.
This summer, I think I can cut my entire backyard while nude. That will be great for the tan!

I think I'd be leery of basing any investment of time/money/effort on the attitude of any particular neighbor. Reason: that neighbor could move away, and the new resident might be totally the opposite.

I'd rather consult the top law enforcement officer to learn my own solid rights in the locality, then proceed accordingly. Not to say communication with the neighbors is useless, just that it's useful only as long as they stay neighbors.

Last year I put up a privacy fence around the backyard. I have neighbors on the other side of the fence so I stay a bit discreet during the day, but its free reign at night. I have my pool out there and have been able to enjoy swimming and the all over tan, so it works. In a couple of years, we are planning a move...maybe I will have 20 acres to myself...LOL

Because I live in a neighborhood of two story houses, so a normally tall fence wouldn't do much good. However, for the house itself, A friend made some custom stained glass windows.I still get plenty of sun light, I can be right up to the windows nude and no-one on the outside will notice and the neighbors have commented about how nice they are to look at from their house.

Speaking of windows... I leave my drapes wide open during the day, and only close them when lights are necessary inside the house. Here's how you can tell if it's OK: just go outside during normal daylight, as far away as neighbors or other outsiders would normally be, and look at your windows. In my case, I can see nothing inside, only reflected daylight. If in doubt, have someone move around inside the house during this check; you'll learn what your window-covering needs may or may not be.

i don't like window coverings. my last house had none since the windows were all pretty high. this house has them, but we usually only close them in the front and at night only. during the day, someone would have to be looking really hard into the windows to see anything, and if they are looking that hard to see my little fella', than they are peeping toms and shuld be arreested. no in the evenings, window coverings are necessary, as it is really easy to look into the house with the lights on. i like the stained glass idea, excapt i like to look out during the day...

don't bother about the shades during the day, unless your window is right on a pedestrian street. someone would have to look right into your windows to see you during the day *and they would be called a peeping tom). different story at night.
