Private Messages - Cool feature

I think that the private messages feature of this bulletin board is great. But it seems that there is no indicator for the users if they have one without checking 'view/edit My Profile.'

I find it awkward to start a topic like 'Trailscout, check your private messages.' Does anyone have any other suggestions for communicating privately?

There is a notice with a little flashing envelope that appears near the top of the page when someone has an unread private message. At least there is supposed to be. Can anyone verify that it's working?

Yes, my envelope has flashed on several different messages within the last month.

ah ha,

Just got two new messages, and i see the flashing mail icon when your in the fourm main page.
