  • 1 week away - Nude Recreation Week - Get Involved - Go Free in your Area!

Started by The Naturist Society in 1975 as National Nude Weekend, Nude recreation Week is now cosponsored by the Kissimmee, Florida-based America Association for Nude Recreation and The Naturist Society, based in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.

Interesting, the AANR Association who cosponsors this national event doesn’t even have reference to it on their main web site, or calendar of events, and yet this page exists on the web by searching for “National+Nude+ Recreation+Week” on most major Web Search Engine Portals. Link: http://63.69.185.54/nuderecreationweek.html which is by them [Poor PR & Promotion, and Web Page Hyperlinks] According to the list of clubs [Hidden or not easily found url/link/page] having scheduled events supporting this National Nude Week, 90% of AANR's 238 listed clubs choose not to have or publish scheduled events during this Nude Recreation Week. Only 10% or 24 Resorts and Clubs across America listing events; That's very poor response, involvement, & concern for National Nude Recreation Week, and organized Nude Recreation. Maybe that's why the page is sort of hidden and Nudist organizations, its members, clubs and resorts are on a decline, instead of growing.

In the past, this was a national event promoted by most nudist clubs across America, offering free tours, admission, for the day during this week long national event, to promote and introduce nude recreation to the public and local communities, and educational institutions for the college age group of younger people missing from organized and sanctioned social nudity at landed and non-landed nudist clubs and resorts across America.

Is your affiliated or sanctioned nudist club, Resort or local newspaper or media promoting or even mentioning this “National Nude Recreation Week”? Probably Not! - Why?

The established clubs and resorts doing well have become selfish, and snobbish of who they want to cater to that will bring in dollars, all year during the week, and those who have the resources, time, and money to do so.

Well that targets the 50-70’ aged group of mostly couples who are financially able to do so or retired. Its no big secret as to why these younger aged group of singles, couples, are missing from organized nude recreation, and just the people who should replace the elder ownership, management, of fewer and fewer clubs, resorts, and Association membership dying out due to their own aged ways, and selfish attitude of “Were doing fine Thank You, with the people and members we have”

From other nudist forums rumor has it that large and small nudist resorts and clubs actually do not want to promote this National Nude Recreation Week, don’t mention it except internally, and really feel it costs them time, resources, overhead to tour non members, non nudists around and offer or promote free admission. They actually say it cost them money so they hide the support and promotion of this national nude recreation week unless challenged, and then some decline the past generally recognized free admission on the weekend of this event. A quick scan of the hidden link above indicates the largest membership club in California “Laguna Del Sol” www.lagunadelsol.com near Sacramento, CA. Quietly does not promote or list on their calendar of events this week long National Nude Recreation Event.

    • Is your local Club or Nude Resort honoring or promoting “National Nude Recreations Week?

    • If not, Challenge them by calling or emailing, and ask if you’re not a member if they honor free admission, and tour for this national event.

    • Contact your local Newspaper, Television, and Radio Stations to list and promote this week long event at your local Resort or Club.

Do your part, Get involved now! Keep Social Nude Recreation Alive and Growing, Not Dying a slow death of members, clubs, & resorts, as some are doing in their selfish unorganized narrow way of operating, managing, promoting, and thinking only for themselves.

Actually, Gary, NNW starts the first full week after the weekend of July 4th. This year, it is July 10-16.

AANR and its clubs have put out press releases.

I know Travelites (my club) has an annual canude trip with a staging area at Whispering Pines, just over the Myrtle Beach, SC area in Ocean Isle Beach/Shallotte, NC.

I have also sent out over a dozen faxes and emails to my media contacts. I will be sending out AANR's NNW pins/buttons to some of those.

If the media doesn't pickup the press releases, we can't help it.

      Regards, Cheri
