  • Seattle paper reports 200 naked bike riders

I was reading the web site of the Seattle PI newspaper web site today and saw an article about the Freemont district Solstice Parade, an annual event. The web site reports that 200 naked bike riders participated in the parade this year.

No, I didn't mean it that way at all. I was just impressed on how many people participated in the event.

Now in its 19th year, the annual Fremont Solstice Parade and pageant began in 1989 and has become a favorite citywide community art parade in Seattle's neighborhood of "funky" Fremont. An unparalleled demonstration of free speech, creativity, art and community, we cast a spell of joy, hope and rebirth that spreads from Fremont to the entire universe. We welcome wild, weird, engaging, surprising, delightful, beautiful, collaborative, innovative art of all stripes.

              2003 80 naked riders

2004 New record this year, about 116 riders?

2007 200-300 estimated naked or partially naked riders with a majority of women riders outnumbering the men about 75/25%

Stay tuned for the next Nudes in the News mentioning the Seattle Solstice event, and 134 med to hi resolution still images contributed by CFF member "NakedGary" and other CFF/CFI members in attendance to be released for the next new images for the large CFI POF Pictures of freedom album and archives totaling almost 10,000 nudist and naturist images.

The paper's estimate was a tad bit low- at one point on the way from the painting party to the parade one of the organizers counted 314 bikers. There were others that joined along the way. It was a blast!
