I stayed at the Green Turtle hostel and I felt completely safe though I didn't get a very good nights sleep. The average age is, well teenagers and it was a very active night for those youngsters. I would reccomend gettign your own hotel room no matter the cost. incidently there is a bus from Lupin for those going to the run. If I were to go again I would stay there.

Last time I stayed at the downtown hostel. It was okay. It was like staying in the dorm. Luckily I didn't lose anything, but as suggested by NakedGary, it's better to watch your valuable.
The benefit staying there is, first, I met a lot of new international friends. We didn't know each others before, but since we stayed in the same room we got a chance to know each others. We went out and sight seeing together. That was fun.
Second, for food you can just walk to China town which is closeby. The food over there was not too expensive. I went there with my new friends.
You can also fix your food in the communal kitchen (not very clean though).
Well, have fun there. I wish I could go, hmmm let me think.... Should I join? Lol
