I would like to see a high-profile opponent of naturism's reaction if they were to receive an invitation in the mail to go to a resort for a full day. Would that be a Kodak moment?

I can't tell if he means resort fees included or excluded. But either way, the county tax is only a smidgeon of the gross.

I misspoke. Gross sales in the county could reach an additional $4M when doing the math like a politician. More gas being bought, more tourists passing through, stopping at restaraunts, fas-marts, etc. It means the club will be buying more fuel to run things, more food for it's snack bar, or vending machines. It all amounts to more revenue somewhere, though the club won't see it all.

Sounds like a boon to the community. And high-rollers love the resorts. ( Country club types). Should bring in about $4 million a year revenue for the county, along with creating a few jobs.

I might go once, to check it out, but I wouldn't likely go often. I was formerly a member of FAC, but dropped out because the 127-mile drive is a terrible one for me. I understand the roads/traffic situation is better from the St. Louis direction, though.

This proposed nudist resort would be bigger and have more facilities such as motel-type rooms. In addition to having an outdoor pool, it would also have an indoor pool, which Forty Acres Club does not. It would be clothing optional, whereas the Forty Acres Club is not. In addition to serving a large midwest region, it would serve a Greater St. Louis Area of over two million persons, and would be rather easily accessible.

It seems that since it would be in Franklin County, where Forty Acres (nudist) Club is and has been located for so many years with good relationships with the neighbors and the county officials, that Mr. Schultz would have an easier time getting permission to build a nudist resort, than in some county that has no experience with a nudist resort as a resident enterprise in their county.

Pasco County of Florida has multiple nudist resorts in and adjacent to their county and it works out well. Pasco County has more sunshine and more mild weather, but the new proposed nudist facility in Missouri would have an indoor pool to use at times when the weather does not cooperate. This indoor nudist's pool is sorely lacking in Missouri. We can not find a pool in or near the greater St. Louis area that will allow nude swimming groups.

Forty Acres Club does not advertise locally and seems complacent with it's present good membership. It seems that there is room for another larger resort with more featured accomodations that should be advertise locally, as well as nationally.

I hope they build it soon, as I want to go there - if they allow singles (including this 80 year old man widower who is not allowed at Forty Acres Club unless I can find a female.

(I'm too much competition for the younger Apollo adonises or beleveders there. Ha, ha ). Just joking!

If Stephanie York believes her own body "is filth," well, I guess she's entitled to her opinion. Hopefully the governing body will give that the consideration it deserves, which is legally nil. Besides, the man isn't proposing to establish a "colony."

It seems like all the negative comments are coming from one person.

Reminds me of our nude art controversy, started because one bigot didn't understand the fundamentals of art sometime include nudity.
