  • Positive nudes in advertising -> example

Har far can one go. When Oslo City shopping Mall (in Oslo, Norway, which is where I live) earlier this year put up some risquee nudes on billboards all over town as part of an advertising campaign, it did not go in well with the local advertising control agency, and in fact some images got sensored, for example those (remember, those hang in more than lifesize all over town!)

But now the same shopping mall tries it again, with a more "positive" attitude. They used the same couple, the women in fact being pregnant in some of the images. Children are also included. See some examples below. Please note the rightmost image, which is the back of a city bus (!!) and shows not only all family members in full nudity (including two children), but also the mother breastfeeding in a way that leaves absolutely nothing to the imagination.

For once this is just an ordinary couple (they are married, as a matter of fact, and not just some "good-looking and smiling blonde"). While the campaign has raised some eybrows, most people here are mostly oblivious to it. Does it any good for broader acceptance of nudity? That remains to be seen. This country certainly doesn't top the lists of most nude-friendly countries to visit.

Still, this kind of public advertising is most unlikely in the US, I guess. If it isn't sexualised it is not "normal", it always seems.

      Have fun, stay naked.

Well, nudist and naturist seldom get in a leg lock position in social public nude recreation as depicted in the first image.

If that same embrace or position was at the deck of the main pool at a nudist resort in the U.S. in view of all, they would probably get comments, complaints, or mention that’s going over just a little hug, kiss or simple embrace of affection.

The second set of ads are done well and appropriate for any settings.

I can't remember how many years ago it was but I do seem to recall a sears comerical where every one was nude it was only because of placements of the arms and legs that nothing but buts were seen .

Um....I'm trying to figure out what they are advertising.

But the images are good, tasteful. Those artisitic "totally nude but showing nothing" shots. Good work

Has anyone seen the new VONAGE commercial? A guy is speaking about the phone outside while his next door neighbors are doing some nude gardening.

The first image is beautiful, but over the top for public commercial display in larger-than-life form. The second set of images of wonderfully healthy. Imagine! A family actually being shown in fully normal manner.

For those who don't know Oslo has a wonderful sculpture park with 300+ nude statues that depict the entire cycle of life from birth through old age and death. It's incredibly moving——and, considering that the artist was subsidized with public money, impossible to duplicate in the US.

Is this an ad for the naturist lifestyle? If so then I think it is a very positive message of love, the family and naturism. Very european though I doubt we'd see it here in the states.
