  • The Body Boundary Project Video

A film about taking off your clothes for a good cause, directed by a Texan unviersity student.

Interested to know what everyone else on here reckons to it. How many of us would be brave enough to make a movie like this (especially the ladies)?

Note: this is fairly big so slow to download even with Broadband. HINT - let it start to download and go and have a beer or a coffee then come back!

Interesting thing was, the Christian Bible views bounced of nekked people.

Which begs the question - why do we have Christian Nudists?

    Please explain................

The film did not seem to have a conclusion as such, but was very interesting and did make a point or two.

The other interesting point was, that these two nude young women walked/jogged through a busy/crowded Uni Campus and seemed hardly noticed! Or did people just accept?

      Hello Bushnud,

The reason why there are Christian nudists is because they believe that according to their faith the acceptance of Jesus Christ as their saviour removes any sense of guilt, shame and sin from their lives. Hence they believe that as long as they have him on their side they are returned to the Edenic state of pre-fallen man. It isn't a popular philosophy, but at least they are getting out there with it whilst risking being ex-communicated by their churches for doing so.

The shaming of nudity within the Christian scene is not a Biblical principle as much as it was a man-made principle once the arrival of the church patriarchy happened. It didn't happen overnight, but over hundreds of years.

Eventually, it became considered both blasphemy and a heresy by the church for Christian artists to even portray Christ naked in any form (e.g. the covering up of the paintings in the Sistine Chapel).

Unfortunately, there are still some Christian nudists out there who are still bound by churchy views and believe that non-Christians and gay people are "sinners". I was on a Christian nudist group which had these types for a while and I quickly unsubscribed. It's not a very popular group either.

I wonder where you ever got the idea that they are removed, or devoid of the human sense of "guilt, shame and sin".
It would not be good for society if persons were devoid of a sense of ethical standards, devoid of a sense of guilt, shame and error. Christians generally still have this human capacity.
Only sociopaths are reported to have no conscience and sense of guilt.

Hmm, I honestly tried but I failed to see what this filmmaker was trying to say about nudity. Certainly nothing new or original except showing the novelty of a couple of streakers. Additionally the quazi-historical sound bites reinforced the majority's negative connoation regarding nudity. (Plus, the sound quality was really poor.) An odd little film.

I don't quite get the difference between a "biblical principle and a man-made principle". As far as I'm concerned ALL of the principles in the bible (or any other religious book) are man made. Some of those principles work as moral principles and others are just plain weird - such as mixing fabrics in a garment, or searing a calf in its mothers milk, or being circumcised for that matter ( as Jews and Moslems do - to males that is.)

I wonder why two girls had to streak, and no men joined them.

                  It was set up.

Why do it someone asked? Just some student making a film. I think.

Just to clarify on this point, the film makers put out an open call for streakers. They wanted more than two, they wanted all kinds but these two were the only ones who could make it at the designated time. The reason for only two females was really just fate/coincidence in this case. I considered streaking for this film but I was a little worried about the consequences and I also did not know the director or his vision other than that he thinks steaking is funny, which it is, but I need more than that to take such a risk.

It appears the film is not available at the listed url. It might have been removed already. And honestly, now that those students faces are all across the internet, it seems like it will be only a matter of time before the University hears about it. Feel free to keep us posted if you hear any more about it.

This is a thread from May 2007. It hardly matters what the university knows as these people are all either graduated or dropped out by now.
