  • Oregon man caught burglarizing home while naked.

At least he took the time to allegedly enjoy some alcoholic beverages and use the hot tub before the cops hauled him off to the pokey....

Another non nudist issue that will undoubtedly set naturism back 10 years!

Disagree. The guy seemed to know what he was after. When he gets out of jail, now, he knows what will make him happy.

I agree this is a non-nudist story. The guy broke into a house, drank the owner's booze, used the hot tub, then took a shower. This is normal everyday behavior for a lot of people who have nothing to do with nudism. The guy just broke into someone else's house to do it.

He did not perform the break-in while naked, he got that way to use the hot tub and take a shower.

I suspect you are being sarcastic, just as I was!

The headline is slightly misleading. I was expecting a naked man who broke into the house. Instead the story is about a man who made himself at home in someone else's home. The picture shows the guy covered up in some yellow wrap. Why not just let him get dressed again, or are his clothes evidence?

That yellow blanket is an "emergency blanket." All emergency vehicles, including cops cars have at least one of these as standard equipment, on fire engines there are usually several. I suspect that when they confronted this guy, they didn't know where his clothes were and standard operating procedure is to grab one of these and put it around the naked person, cold person, wet person ... They aren't very warm. They are made of a tissue liner, much like the thickness of a paper towel and a water repellent outer layer (the yellow portion).

In my experience ... a few, very few, cops get a kick outta embarrassing the naked person and would keep them wrapped in this blanket but I suspect they just couldn't find this guys clothes, at first. Most cops would have allowed him to get dressed ... unless the person refused, then they'd just keep him/her in the blanket.

In any event, he may be engaging in a form of nudism in the near future - we often had talk of guys not showering together after gym class, etc.

Looks like he's gonna get that chance.

On the other hand, I think it's going to be some time before he's going to be able to afford a home of his own with a hot tub...

It's just another way that journalism uses nudity to promote a story, nothing more.

Reminds me of a story in Switzerland where the burglar made himself a meal and then washed the dishes. I am all for tidy and hygienic burglars, nudist or not.

Well this guy was courteous, too. The report said he had taken a shower before using the hot tub. I don't know if that will get him a reduction in sentence or not.
