  • Topfree activism in social media

This meme has shown up on Twitter and Facebook that last few days - don't know if it is part of #freethenipple but it is getting a reaction - some of which is hilariously clueless. Facebook has been deleting it regularly, but it keeps reappearing.

Good. I created a T-shirt hoping to advocate for top freedom. Unfortunately, topfree.ca shutdown soon after I did it and asked me not to use their URL. If anyone knows of another site that might give me permission, I'd be grateful for a pointer.

Model Chrissy Teigen took on the misogynist rules on Instagram that prohibit female, but not male, nipples. Or at least trolled them hard to highlight their foolishness.

She posted a photo from a recent W Magazine shoot.

Of course it was almost instantly pulled down by Instragram. But Chrissy was having none of that. She was on a mission.

Chrissy decided to troll Instagram by exploiting their rules which allow nudity in works of art. So she reposted the image as an oil painting

and when that was taken down, she reposted it as a pencil sketch

Of course Instagram has erased all the evidence. But the internet never forgets.

Now if we can only get real, average, ordinary, non-celebrity women to be topfree on beaches and in parks.
