  • NFL locker room interview show snudity

The NFL Network decided to interview Adam "Pacman" Jones after the Bengals' win on Sunday (Oct 18). They were in the locker room and the interviewed aired uncensored as the players in the background were changing, some appearing naked. Here is an article with the uncensored video.

I have no problem with it, but yes, the media clearly went too far this time. They know they are in a locker room and nude bodies will be present. They should have had the interview in a location away from the showers and changing areas. That was a bad judgment call by the reporter.

This happens once in awhile. No one seems to be disturbed over it. It's happened with a few Red Sox broadcasts over the years, but then again, this is Boston and we don't get all giddy and silly over it.

You will notice that now, NFL / NCAA / MLB / NBA now hold their post-game pressers in a room, corporate background not withstanding, but all reporters can be in that room and they do Q&A there. This can accommodate more, and is more open, and because of its open format a cub reporter is less likely to pose a stupid or inflammatory question.

Still, with 49 guys on an NFL team - plus coaches - you can't get all 49 out there to the press conference room (and with both teams, it's 100), so the locker room interview still is with us..

Actually - the concept of the conference-room format is NOT new - tennis tournaments have been doing that for decades. Then again, it's only one, or perhaps two people being interviewed; back in the days, sportswriters were all male and they could not be expected to do interviews in a women's locker room; so they would set up a press tent, where the competitors would come over, sit and take questions for 15 minutes or so, then head for their showers. They still do that today.

This locker room interview was very similar to the locker room scenes in the film, On Any Given Sunday. Perhaps , it's time for all to realize there is no harm in everyday nudity whether it be at work, home or school. But on a side note, I would like to see an interview with this videographer as to what he was thinking when this was filmed.

I think it's a bit hypocritical to think that the videographer had any explaining to do. Especially to a naturist audience. In our house it shouldn't matter the state of dress or gender in the locker room. If someone points out the nudity in the locker room, let's universally say 'So what?'
